Alternative investment firm Angelo Gordon has appointed Allison Binns, former Executive Director for Global Sustainability Research at Morgan Stanley, as Head of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Investing Strategies.
In this new role, Binns will lead and drive a best-in-class, strategic approach to ESG integration and opportunity across Angelo Gordon’s global platform. Binns will report to Josh Baumgarten and Adam Schwartz, Angelo Gordon’s co-Chief Executive Officers.
Arcesium, a global financial technology and professional services firm, has appointed Cesar Estrada has been appointed as the firm’s Private Markets Segment Head.
Estrada will be responsible for overseeing Arcesium’s application of its core competencies in data integration and harmonisation to the investment lifecycle of managers in private capital markets, including private equity, private debt, real estate and infrastructure. The new segment represents an expansion for Arcesium beyond its historical focus on supporting more than USD630 billion in assets of hedge funds, private equity funds, banks, and institutional asset managers.

Shant H Chalian has joined Day Pitney LLP as counsel in the firm’s Investment Management and Private Funds practice, resident in its Stamford office. He joins the firm from Robinson + Cole.
Chalian’s overall practice is focused on fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and securities. He assists a range of clients, including private equity and hedge funds and their sponsors, large corporations, middle-market companies, family-owned businesses, and venture capital groups.
Intelligo, the provider of an AI-powered background risk intelligence platform for investment due diligence, has appointed Dan Reidy as the Vice President of Sales in North America. He will be based in Chicago.
Connection Capital, a specialist private client investment business, has appointed Anas Afzal as Fund Associate in its Alternative Funds.
Afzal joins from Aberdeen Standard where he was a Portfolio Analyst on the Fixed Income team. He will work alongside Head of Funds, Lorna Robertson, to source and identify specialist fund managers that the company believes will be attractive to clients and complementary to its existing fund portfolio which spans strategies from private credit to venture capital.
RBC Global Asset Management’s specialist fixed income manager, BlueBay Asset Management (BlueBay), has appointed two new hires as it bolsters its developed market special situations capabilities – James Rous, as an Institutional Portfolio Manager and Giovanni Galvani, as an Analyst.
Based in London, both will report to Adam Phillips, who joined the firm in October last year as Head of Developed Markets within its global leveraged finance team, and was charged with further enhancing BlueBay’s offering within this space.

Quantile Technologies (Quantile), a provider of multilateral optimisation services for hedge funds and other financial institutions engaged in OTC derivative transactions, has appointed Esben Urbak and Rami Atieh as Senior Product Managers.
Atieh joined in November, while Urbak joined earlier in 2021, with both reporting to Varqa Abyaneh, Chief Product Officer.
Both Urbak and Atieh come from trading backgrounds and will work on new product development, with a focus on reducing risk and funding requirements in the derivatives markets.
