Highvern has made three senior hires as it opens a new Irish office in Dublin. The Dublin business will be headed up by Philip Dempsey as Country Head – Ireland, who is joined by Adrian Bailie and Emma Keane as Directors.   The Irish offering will include, subject to the applicable regulatory approvals, corporate and fund administration services to unregulated and regulated structures across Debt, Capital Markets, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Private Equity, Aviation, Hedge and other alternative asset classes in the Irish marketplace.
Law firm Seward & Kissel has promoted Daniel Bresler and Nicholas Miller to partner. The firm has also promoted Jay Baroody, Kurt Plankl, Dora Pulido, Filana Silberberg, and Steven Starr to counsel. The promotions were effective 1 January, 2022.   Bresler is a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group, and represents US and non-U.S. investment managers, commodity pool operators, commodity trading advisors, and private funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds.  Miller is also a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group and represents sponsors and managers of private investment funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds,
Corinthian has appointed Denis Vinokourov as a Principal and Head of Research. Corinthian is the brainchild of Paul Frost-Smith who, having developed algorithmic trading strategies at Argentium, saw the opportunity to invest across the entire crypto value chain, not just in high frequency arbitrage.  Vinokourov joins Corinthian from Synergia Capital, a DeFi Fund where he was Head of Research and part of the team tasked with identifying early-stage investment opportunities, with a particular focus on DeFi protocols across blockchains. Before this, he was Head of Research for Bequant, where he published thematic, tactical and market structure research on key trends

Bridgewater Associates has named co-CEO deputy chief executive Nir Bar Dea, and former Aetna Chief Executive Mark Bertolini, – a member of Bridgewater’s board for three years – as co-Chief Executives of the world’s largest hedge fund, according to a Finance News report. The announcement was made in a memo to Bridgwater employees that was released publicly, informing staff that CEO David McCormick would be stepping down to consider running for the US Senate in Pennsylvania. Bridgewater has had performance problems in recent years with the firm’s flagship Pure Alpha macro fund posting its worst monthly loss in March 2020.
Arcesium, a global financial technology and professional services firm, has expanded its India-based operations with a new office in Delhi NCR. The new office, located in DLF Cyber Park, a technology hub in Gurugram with state-of-the-art infrastructure, will be staffed with employees across technology, services, and other key functions.    Arcesium is a provider of post-investment and enterprise data management solutions to hedge funds, banks, institutional asset managers, and private equity firms.
Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM), one of the world’s leading investment managers, has appointed Alan Keating to lead its Dublin based UCITS management company. Keating, who will form part of NTAM EMEA’s executive leadership team, will focus on ensuring the continued growth, management and governance of its UCITS fund range. He reports to Marie Dzanis, head of NTAM for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
