Alternative asset management firm Hayfin Capital Management (Hayfin) has appointed Marc Chowrimootoo as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager within its private credit business.
In this role, Chowrimootoo will work closely with the investment team on sourcing and analysing investment opportunities, as well as portfolio management, across the firm’s private credit strategies.
Chowrimootoo brings a wealth of experience in leveraged finance as well as long-established relationships within the European private equity community, complementing Hayfin’s origination and portfolio management capabilities and its sponsor relationships. He joins from Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director in the European Leveraged Finance
BTIG Limited has appointed Andrew Vass, a seasoned cross-asset sales and trading specialist, as a Managing Director the firm’s Institutional Equities business in London.
Vass will report directly to Luke Hodges, BTIG Limited’s Chief Operating Officer and Head of Equities.
At BTIG, Vass will be focused on continuing to develop the firm’s cross-asset trading capabilities and coverage of global hedge funds and other institutional investor clients in London.
Blank Rome has appointed David E Kronenberg as an energy finance partner in the Finance, Restructuring, and Bankruptcy practice group, and a member of the firm’s cross-practice Energy Industry Team.
Kroenenbrg, who will be based in the firm’s Washington DC, and Cincinnati, Ohio, offices, will focus his practice on the intersection of energy hedging, financing, and bankruptcy law, representing energy companies, financial institutions, hedge funds, and private equity firms.
Kroenenbrg joins from Sidley Austin where he served as counsel in the firm’s energy group.

Michael Hunstad, PhD, Northern Trust Asset Management’s (NTAM) head of quantitative strategies since 2018, is expanding his management responsibilities to include NTAM’s index equity and tax-advantaged equity teams, both of which are grounded in the systematic approach that powers the firm’s quantitative processes.
Hunstad has concurrently been appointed a member of NTAM’s Executive Group.

Canada’s Brookfield Asset Management has its sights set on establishing a European presence for its hedge fund business, according to a report in the Financial Times.
The Toronto-based firm’s Brookfield Hedge Fund Solutions Advisors, a USD1 billion multi-strategy unit trading areas such as equity market neutral and event-driven, has, until now, based all of its trading teams in New York.
According to the report though, the firm is now actively recruiting for a European team which will be operate out of a new office in London.
