Furo (pictured), has worked with numerous governments, blockchain start-ups, global investment banks, and wealth management firms on product development, digital asset allocation, trade management, and on several innovative concepts Previously, Furo was a neuroscience researcher at Columbia University Medical School. He holds patents and publications in the natural sciences along with a dual degree in molecular biology and alternative investments from Hampshire College.

Agilis Investment Management, an independent multi-asset fund manager, has appointed Chris Welsh as Partner, responsible for strategic business development and distribution.
Welsh (pictured), joins Agilis from the Mako Group, a derivatives trading firm, where he was CEO for 10 years before becoming Non-Executive Chairman. At Mako, he was responsible for developing Mako’s core trading business, growing an asset management group and leading several corporate transactions. Welsh has more than 25 years’ of financial-services experience and began his career at Morgan Stanley before joining Credit Suisse.

JonesTrading Institutional Services (JonesTrading) has appointed Timothy (Tim) Baker as Senior Vice President in its Equity Sales Trading Group.
Baker will be responsible for trading and account coverage, with a particular focus on special purpose acquisition companies’ (SPAC’s) and other special trading situations.
Baker brings over 14 years of experience to the role. He was most recently Director at Cowen, which acquired his prior firm, CRT Sterne Agee, where he served as Managing Director, Partner, and Head of Trading. He is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University.

Societe Generale has appointed David Abitbol as the new Head of Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS), effective 1 January 2019.
Based in Paris, Abitbol will report to Séverin Cabannes, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, responsible for the bank’s Global Banking and Investor Solutions activities.
Abitbol replaces Bruno Prigent, who is retiring after 38 years at Societe Generale, 27 of which were with Societe Generale Securities Services. Prigent retains his current role within SGSS until the end of 2018 and will focus on ensuring a smooth transition of the business.

DWS has appointed Clarence Ng as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Alternatives Asia Pacific business, and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for DWS China.
In these newly created positions, Ng will be responsible for managing the implementation of all financial and governance aspects of the Alternatives business across the APAC region, in addition to managing all operational aspects of DWS Shanghai. Based in Shanghai, Ng will report to Leon Williams, Chief Operating Officer Alternatives, Asia Pacific.
Ng joins DWS with 16 years of experience. His most recent position held was Global Markets Finance Director for Deutsche Bank (China) Company

In alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives, with a formal go-live date of 1 January 2019, StatPro will begin to operate across three divisions, StatPro Revolution, Source: StatPro, and StatPro Infovest. The Revolution division will focus on cloud-based performance and risk analytics platform. Source: StatPro will focus on market data and index services, and Infovest will focus on investment data management solutions.
