Man Group has appointed Charmian Wan as Managing Director within its institutional sales team in Hong Kong.
Reporting to Hersh Gandhi, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific at Man Group, Wan (pictured), will focus on Man Group’s institutional client business across Asia, encompassing the firm’s five investment managers, Man AHL, Man Numeric, Man GLG, Man FRM and Man Global Private Markets.
Wan has over 17 years’ experience in the financial services industry. She joins Man Group from Lazard Asset Management, where she was Director, Head of Business Development and Marketing, Asia ex-Japan. She previously held roles at BlueBay Asset Management as Head
US future brokerage and clearing firm RJ O’Brien & Associates (RJO) has added veteran institutional brokers Barry Marnane and Neil Tesi to its London-based affiliate, RJ O’Brien Limited.
Operating as a team for 16 years, Marnane and Tesi specialise in global macro fixed income futures and options execution.

Birch Century International, a global alternative asset manager, is to open a new Tokyo based office, authorised by the Financial Services Agency of Japan. Birch Century International Japan will provide accredited investors with access to the company’s alternative investment and asset management platforms.
Building upon Birch Century International’s alternative investment capabilities, the Tokyo office is scheduled to open in March 2018, and will expand the firm’s global platform whilst enhancing its ability provide investors with access to specialised market opportunities.

Fulcrum Asset Management (Fulcrum) has appointed Matthew Roberts as a Partner. He will be responsible for the creation of a new Alternatives Group that will invest in real assets and credit.
Matthew joins from Willis Towers Watson where he was a portfolio manager for the Towers Watson Partners Fund and related strategies amounting to USD10 billion. Prior to this he ran its multi-asset and multi-strategy hedge fund research teams.

CloudMargin, provider of a web-based collateral and margin management solution, has appointed Martin Adams as Head of Client Operations.
Adams is a 26-year veteran of derivatives operations, with extensive experience in over-the-counter (OTC) and listed derivatives, as well as fixed income and foreign exchange (FX) products.
His work has addressed risk, control, and process and technology optimisation, along with the impact of evolving European and US regulatory requirements on some of the world’s largest investment banking operations. In this new role, Adams will be responsible for leading CloudMargin’s pre-sales support, onboarding and ongoing client support functions.
