Pacific Fund Systems (PFS), a provider of fully integrated fund administration software via its PFS-PAXUS application, has appointed Didier Lucotte as cloud services manager in the firm’s European operations team. Man Group has appointed Michelle McCloskey as president of Man Americas. In this newly created role, McCloskey (pictured) will work with the Americas sales team, under Eric Burl's leadership as head of Man Americas, to deepen relationships with investors in the Americas.   McCloskey also remains president of FRM, where she will continue to work with Keith Haydon, CIO, and Mike Turner, COO, in leading the business, which is overseen by Man Group’s president, Jonathan Sorrell.   McCloskey joined Man Group in 2006. CBL Markets, a spot exchange operator for environmental commodity markets, has appointed John Melby to its board of directors. ACR Alpine Capital Research, a value-oriented asset management firm, has appointed Neel Shah and Mark Unferth as portfolio managers. Shah and Unferth will lead ACR’s investments in performing and distressed credit, and work with the portfolio management team on investment idea generation, selection, monitoring and risk management.   “Mark and Neel’s proven expertise investing across the capital structure and their deep knowledge of assets spanning a multitude of industries will enhance ACR’s valuation process and opportunity set,” says Nick Tompras (pictured), founder and chief investment officer.   Shah and Unferth will be based in New York and report to Tompras.
Torstone Technology, a provider of post-trade securities and derivatives processing, is expanding its services in Asia with senior appointments in Japan and the signing of a multi-year deal with Natixis Japan Securities to use Torstone’s collateral management module. Daniel J Davis has been named the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) general counsel. Davis (pictured) comes to the CFTC from the law firm Proskauer Rose, where he was special counsel in the labour and employment law department.   Davis will assume his duties today.   “I’m delighted that Mr Davis will bring his vast knowledge, keen intellect, and good judgment to the important work of the CFTC.
