Advanced Logic Analytics (ALA), a provider of enterprise wide big data and finance analytics solutions for buy- and sell-side institutions and other financial firms, has appointed Giovanni Loria to the company’s board as a non-executive director. Loria (pictured) has been serving as VP and CFO global strategic finance at Computer Science Corporation (CSC) where in recent years he was responsible for the operational and financial transformation of the Xchanging acquisition and the global business services division. In his roles, he has been instrumental in supporting the firm’s global divisional leaders in the execution of company plans, strategies and M&A activity.
SmartStream Technologies, a Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) specialist, has appointed Richard Bowler as chief financial officer with responsibility for all aspects of the company’s finances, including treasury, administration and financial strategy.  Bowler (pictured) will be located in London, reporting to SmartStream’s CEO Haytham Kaddoura, and will manage the finance team.   He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Institutional alternative asset manager Crestline Investors has appointed Chris Golio as a managing director in the firm’s business development and client partnership group based in New York. Geneva-based asset management company Quaero Capital has appointed Serge Ledermann as a member of its board of directors. Backed with more than 35 years’ experience in the financial industry Ledermann (pictured) is a well-known public figure both in Switzerland and internationally.   Working as an independent advisor and an independent director for family offices, pension funds, foundations and asset managers Ledermann has held several managerial positions in asset management. He was a member of the executive committee and head of asset management at J Safra Sarasin, as well as deputy CEO and head of investment of Retraites Populaires in Lausanne.
Northern Trust has appointed Katharine Morris as head of sales of its global fund services business in the UK. Michael Stewart and Michael Di Felice have joined the the fixed income credit group of BTIG. Quantopian, the free online platform for education and creation of institutional-quality investment algorithms, has hired Leslie Baccini as director of investor relations.
