RSRCHXchange, the MiFID II compliant marketplace for institutional research, has appointed several industry veterans to its board.
They are Adam Toms, former CEO of agency broker Instinet Europe, Don Guiney, senior capital markets partner at Freshfields, and Michael McFadgen, managing director at Euclid Opportunities, NEX’s fintech investment division.
In addition, Alan MacDonald, former head of international equity research at Nomura and head of global research at UBS, has joined RSRCHXchange. He brings 30 years of industry experience and will be instrumental in shaping sell-side relationships for RSRCHXchange over the coming years.
The appointments follow only a week after
GAM has appointed Matthew Beesley as head of equities.
Beesley, former head of global equities at Henderson, will work with all of the GAM equity teams to optimise performance and risk management, ensure strong links with sales, marketing and operations and also drive information collaboration across teams.
Beesley has more than 19 years of investment experience. He starts on 6 March 2017 and will be based in London.
GAM fund managers benefit from the freedom to follow their own investment philosophy and processes, with active conviction investment styles that are not wedded to benchmarks.
Group CEO Alexander
Enstar Group has appointed Jie Liu to its board of directors, effective 21 February 2017.
Liu is a managing director of Hillhouse Capital Management and has been with the company since 2015.
Prior to joining Hillhouse, he was head of credit and a senior portfolio manager for Sentry Investments, a Canadian asset manager, for over five years.
Liu has also served as a fixed income research analyst at RBC Capital Markets and a credit rating specialist at Standard & Poor’s.

Rayne Capital Management has added two senior partners to the company's executive and portfolio management team.
Mitchell Molloy will join as managing partner and David Szybunka will become lead portfolio manager for Rayne Energy, each subject to the receipt of required regulatory approvals.
Molloy and Szybunka will both oversee the Rayne Energy mandate, a long/short absolute return-focused strategy that leverages Rayne Capital's local presence and expertise in the Canadian oil and gas sector.

JTC Fund Services has made senior appointments in Luxembourg and London as it continues to strengthen its fund servicing business.
Daniel Essoo (pictured) has been appointed as a senior director based in JTC’s London office. With 14 years’ experience in the international financial services industry, Essoo joins the established London fund services team to support JTC’s further growth in the City. A specialist in helping firms with complex, multi-jurisdictional corporate and fund solutions, Essoo has considerable experience in private equity and emerging markets.

The Foreign Exchange Professionals Association (FXPA) has elected a slate of new board members, as well as four officers to serve on the its executive committee (ExCom).
FXPA members re-elected Chip Lowry (pictured), senior managing director of State Street Global Markets, as chair, and Sean Tully, senior managing director, financial and OTC products, CME Group, as treasurer.
FXPA members also elected two new officers to the ExCom: Fulinda Rouse, co-head of global accounts, EBS BrokerTec, as vice chair, and Paul Millward, head of FX product strategy, Bats Global Markets, as secretary.

Sycomore AM has appointed Alexandre Taïeb as fund manager-analyst within the firm’s asset allocation team.
Taïeb (pictured), who will report to Stanislas de Bailliencourt, managing partner, brings expertise in the fields of asset allocation and macroeconomic analysis.
His role will include the implementation of the firm’s investment policy across the discretionary mandate business.
Before joining Sycomore AM, Taïeb served for six years as an analyst at Forward Finance, an investment consultancy firm dedicated to institutional investors. He was responsible for analysing the economic financial news flow and researching interest rates and real estate; he also contributed to the
RiverNorth Capital Management, a boutique investment management firm specialising in opportunistic strategies, has appointed Greg Uythoven as an institutional portfolio specialist.
In this role, Uythoven (pictured) is responsible for supporting the investment management team by serving as a liaison between RiverNorth’s portfolio managers and institutional investor base.
