Alternative investment manager Franklin Square Capital Partners has hired Lewis Katz as Chief Business Development Officer. In this newly created role, Katz will develop new growth opportunities and help diversify distribution into new sales channels by collaborating with teams across the firm to expand its financial technology, marketing and educational initiatives.
“Lewis Katz has wide-ranging experience with alternative investments, large-scale business development, partnership growth and technology expansion,” says Michael C Forman (pictured), Chairman and CEO of Franklin Square. “He will be instrumental in forging says paths for Franklin Square as we continue our growth as a leader in alternatives.”

SS&C Technologies Holdings has appointed Ron Tannenbaum as Managing Director of Business Development for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in its Alternative Fund Services business, SS&C GlobeOp.
He will be based in SS&C’s European headquarters in London and will report to Punit Satsangi, Managing Director, Head of Alternatives EMEA Business Development.
Most recently, Tannenbaum was Co-Founder and Partner (UK Marketing and Sales) at AltB Partners LP. Prior to this, he was Partner and Co-Founder of GlobeOp Financial Services, which was acquired by SS&C in 2012. Mr. Tannenbaum has also served in a number of senior executive positions at
Theodore “Ted” Tulpan has joined MUFG Union Bank as managing director and team lead for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) within Transaction Banking.
Tulpan is responsible for developing the bank’s transaction banking business with financial institutions, including banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, insurance and title companies, and financial exchanges. He manages a national team of sales professionals and associates. Tulpan is based in New York and reports to Charles “Chaz” Present, managing director US Wholesale Banking Treasury Services.

Placement agent Eaton Partners is to open its seventh international office in Chicago in April 2016. This new office – which joins Eaton Partners' current offices in Hong Kong, Houston, London, Rowayton, San Diego, and Shanghai – will help further develop the firm’s global investor network and placement capabilities.
Managing Director Christopher Maduri will lead the new location within the Stifel Financial Corporation's Chicago office space located at 70 W Madison Street.

Feldman joins Ehud (Udi) Sadan as Co-Practice Leader of Anchin Private Client, one of the largest practice groups at the firm.

Colleen Byrne has joined Cowen Prime as Vice President. Her primary responsibilities will be in Capital Introduction, where she will work further develop this part of the firm’s offering.
Byrne will also engage with the firm’s prime brokerage sales team to identify new business development opportunities.
Byrne joins Cowen following two years as a consultant with Hedge Connection, an alternative investment media company focused on establishing connections between hedge fund managers and allocators utilising the firm’s electronic platform. Previously, she was affiliated with Asset Alliance Corporation/Hedgeharbor Inc, a hedge fund investor platform, as Associate Director.

Dalton Strategic Partnership (Dalton) has appointed two new equity research analysts to its Melchior European Absolute Return team, taking the overall team size to seven.
Christos Damianou has joined Dalton from Fidelity Worldwide Investment where he was an equity research analyst. Nabeel Mughal joined the team in January this year having been at Dalton for seven years, during which time he was an equity research analyst and portfolio manager on the firm’s US desk. Nabeel was previously an equity research analyst at Henderson Global Investors, before joining Dalton in 2009.

Private debt specialist Old Hill Partners has appointed former GE Capital executive Shila Ray as Financial Officer.
Ray will be responsible for overall finance and fund accounting functions at the company and has been named to the firm's investment committee. Ray has over 20 years of experience in finance leadership roles. He served as CFO and in various global leadership positions for businesses within GE Capital. He has extensive experience in scaling up enterprises and has been instrumental in leading the finance function for various global and domestic operations. Highland Capital Management Fund Advisors, the retail affiliate of Dallas-based investment management firm Highland Capital Management has added 14 independent broker-dealer (IBD) sales professionals in the fourth quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016.
Highland's IBD sales team represents a broad spectrum of products both from Highland Fund Advisors and from affiliates NexPoint Advisors, LP, NexPoint Capital, Inc. and NexPoint Real Estate Advisors, L.P. Products include non-traded business development companies (BDCs), REITs, mutual funds and ETFs. The firm also expects to roll out a series of interval funds later this year.
