RAM Active Investments has appointed Nexus Investment Advisors Limited as manager of the RAM Asia Bond Total Return Fund – previously known as Samena (Lux) Global Funds – Credit Opportunities Fund.
This decision is the logical consequence following the departure of the fund's management team, Richard Yang and Carl Wong, from Samena Capital to join Nexus. Nexus is an excellent platform for the investment team to continue managing the fund. In order to place emphasis on the fund’s investment style, RAM has decided to rename the fund “RAM Asia Bond Total Return”.

Sussex Partners has been appointed by MCP Asset Company Limited (MCP) to provide access for the Oasis Value Long Fund and the Oasis Value Alpha Fund to its institutional clients in Switzerland, parts of Europe and the United States.
The Funds run on MCP’s hedge fund platform and are advised by Norinchukin Value Investments Co., Ltd. (NVIC), whose parent company, The Norinchukin Bank, with USD828.1 billion in assets as of 30 September 2014 is one of the largest institutional investors in the world.

Doug Ostrover will step down as a Senior Managing Director of Blackstone and will become a Senior Adviser to the firm.
Ostrover was, along with Bennett Goodman and Tripp Smith, one of the founders of GSO, Blackstone’s alternative credit platform. Blackstone acquired GSO in 2008 and it now has assets under management of USD75 billion. Ostrover intends to found a family office to invest capital and work alongside management teams.

Tortoise Capital Advisors has added four seasoned portfolio managers to its investment committee, effective 30 June, 2015.
Brian Kessens, James Mick, Matthew Sallee and Robert Thummel, all managing directors of Tortoise, serve in significant roles alongside the Investment Committee as part of Tortoise’s portfolio management team, and this will formalise their roles. They will join current Investment Committee members Kevin Birzer, Zach Hamel, Terry Matlack and Ken Malvey. The Investment Committee will continue to provide investment strategy oversight to the portfolio team, who implements the strategy.

Enso Financial Analytics (ENSO), a provider of data-driven investment and operational insights for hedge funds, has hired Julian Pittam as Head of EMEA and Stephen Caplen as Global COO.
Both Pittam and Caplen will operate out of ENSO's London office and join the company's global executive management team.
Pittam joins ENSO from Data Explorers, a financial data and software company that was sold to Markit in 2012. Caplen comes from ICAP, which recently announced a second round of funding in ENSO. ICAP is a leading markets operator and provider of post trade risk mitigation and information services.

Investcorp has appointed Sunil Gaglani in the newly-created role od chief risk officer of the firm’s hedge fund business.
Gaglani will be responsible for monitoring the risks of investments made across the firm's Hedge Funds business including fund of funds, single managers, special opportunity and alternative beta portfolios. He will be a member of the Hedge Funds Investment Committee and report to Lionel Erdely, Head and Chief Investment Officer of the Hedge Funds Group at Investcorp.

ITG, the independent execution broker, has been appointed as a US trading intermediary for Bondcube’s buy-side to buy-side trades.
As a US trading intermediary on Bondcube, ITG will facilitate the settlement of trades between buy-sides. The partnership will increase the probability of a match for clients of both firms by allowing ITG clients access to the additional Bondcube liquidity and participants and vice-versa.

American Century Investments has named Cleo Chang as senior vice president and head of alternative investments. Chang, who joins American Century on May 18, was previously chief investment officer of Wilshire Funds Management.
Chang’s appointment to this newly created investment management role comes on the heels of other recent executive hires in advance of the firm's anticipated launch of a suite of alternative investment strategies.
