HSBC Global Asset Management has hired four people for its global macro and investment strategy team, led by Philip Poole in London.
Poole (pictured) joined Global Asset Management in July 2010 from HSBC Global Research where he was global head of emerging markets.
The role of the macro and investment strategy function is to provide economic and strategic research support for the investment teams at HSBC Global Asset Management. The team is also responsible for providing timely and informative market views to clients, ranging from daily market updates to market alerts and the longer Investment Quarterly report.

SEB has appointed Peter Herrlin as the new head of the Swedish bank’s prime brokerage division in London.
Herrlin, who joined SEB in 2010, succeeds Atilla Olesen who has transferred to Denmark to take up a position as head of Enskilda equities with SEB.
Upon joining SEB Prime Brokerage in 2010 Herrlin worked with UK and European hedge fund sales, securities finance and SEB Prime Solutions, SEB’s Ucits platform. SEB launched Prime Solutions in late 2010 and under his stewardship the platform has since grown to seven funds.

DCG in Jersey has appointed Paul Perris to a senior role designed to help further develop the firm’s funds business and to expand its service capabilities globally.
Perris (pictured) has more than 20 years’ experience in the establishment and administration of a wide range of multi jurisdictional corporate, real estate and private wealth structures for global funds, institutions and ultra high net worth individuals.
He joins DCG from Ogier, the offshore law firm and fiduciary group where he was a partner and group director.

Executive vice president Mark Ibbotson has been appointed chief executive of NYSE Liffe with responsibility for exchange trading, clearing and regulation.
Executive vice president Finbarr Hutcheson has been appointed chief executive of NYSE Liffe with responsibility for commercial and business development.
NYSE Euronext recently completed an organisational realignment of its product and sales teams globally.

Fund administrator HedgeServ has appointed Bill Kelly as global head of sales, responsible for building relationships with hedge fund managers, funds of hedge funds, private equity funds and institutional investment managers.
He will be based in HedgeServ’s New York office and will report to Jim Kelly, HedgeServ chairman and co-founder.

HedgeMark International has added three senior professionals to its business development and marketing teams.
HedgeMark is a provider of hedge fund managed accounts, position level risk and performance analytics, and infrastructure services for the management of segregated hedge fund investments.
Joining HedgeMark are Steven A. Lonsdorf, who will lead HedgeMark Securities, the distribution arm of the HedgeMark managed funds platform, as president and chief compliance officer; Ben Yaffee, who is joining HedgeMark as a managing director, responsible for marketing and capital formation; and Danielle A. Terrazzino, who is joining HedgeMark as a vice president.
HSBC has appointed Paul Busby as head of prime services sales, Americas, with immediate effect.
Busby previously worked at Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank for 18 years, most recently as managing director and co-head of equity finance Americas.
Busby will report locally into Tom O’Leary, head of equities, Americas and functionally into Chris Barrow, global head of prime services sales.
Also joining the bank, Brian Hughes will report locally into Paul Busby and functionally into Terry Minkey, global head of prime services client services. He joins as client services manager to cover clients in the US market.

Man Group has appointed Judy Saunders as a senior adviser on a consultancy basis to its UK institutional team.
Saunders takes on the role after seven years as chief investment officer at the West Midlands Pension Fund, where she was responsible for developing the GBP8.7bn fund’s investment strategy.

Alternative asset management firm Black Diamond Capital Management has appointed Jean Fleischhacker as Senior Managing Director, Business Development.
Fleischhacker will lead the structuring and marketing for CLOs, other structured products, and mezzanine debt. Fleischhacker will also head new product development and play an instrumental role in strategic development and growth initiatives.
