Ruud Hendriks, a non-executive director of Man Group, has been appointed as non-executive Chairman of the firm’s Institutional Department and will step down from the Board. Ruud’s change of role will be effective from 1 December, 2011. Alternative investment provider Direxion has named Harold W Clemons as its new Senior Sales Director for the Mid-South region. Clemons is responsible for selling all of Direxion’s buy-and-hold alternative investment strategy products to financial advisors across all channels, including wirehouse, regional broker dealers, registered investment advisor (RIA) and others in his territory. The Isle of Man Fund Management Association (FMA) has appointed Ian Morley as the Isle of Man’s London representative for funds in a bid to further strengthen its commitment to attracting new UK and international business towards the Island. The Futures and Options Association (FOA) is enhancing its regulatory resources with the appointment of Blake Stephenson as Manager, Regulation, with effect from 28 November. Stephenson joins the FOA from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) where he was part of the exchange supervision team. He is also a qualified solicitor. At the same time, Simon Andrews has been promoted to Director of Commodities, a new role which will see him spearhead the FOA’s increased activities in this sector. Gregory McGreevey is to join Invesco as head of Invesco Fixed Income on 28 November, 2011. Based in Atlanta. he will assume responsibility for the day-to-day business oversight of Invesco’s fixed income business, and willreport to Karen Dunn Kelley, senior managing director. “I‘m pleased that Greg McGreevey, a respected industry veteran with 25 years’ investment and leadership experience, is joining Invesco,” says Kelley. “With his broad knowledge of the industry and strong investment background, McGreevey is uniquely qualified to continue taking Invesco’s fixed income business forward.”   McGreevey says, “I am delighted to join such an outstanding asset management organization. 
Reto Gehring and Alexandre Potelle have joined SYZ Fund Research, Swiss bank SYZ & CO’s fund analysis and “long only” manager selection service. The two new staff members join the team of Katia Coudray Cornu, who was appointed Head of SYZ Fund Research in June 2011. GAM has appointed Anthony Lawler as a member of the senior management and the investment management committees of its Multi-Manager group, effective immediately. He will focus on the ongoing expansion of GAM’s institutional business particularly in the US, through the construction of customised funds of hedge funds portfolios.
