Ruud Hendriks, a non-executive director of Man Group, has been appointed as non-executive Chairman of the firm’s Institutional Department and will step down from the Board. Ruud’s change of role will be effective from 1 December, 2011.
Ruud has a lifetime’s experience in institutional sales, having previously been a Managing Director and Co-Head of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Goldman Sachs and Global Head of Institutional Sales for Robeco, a leading international asset manager.

Professional services provider Rothstein Kass has appointed Meredith Jones as a Director. Kashkin specialises in corporate and commercial work, including banking and finance, and regularly advises banks, public and private companies. Kashkin joins Conyers from the Moscow office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was a corporate associate, and has also worked in the corporate team of Baker & McKenzie in Moscow.

Alternative investment provider Direxion has named Harold W Clemons as its new Senior Sales Director for the Mid-South region.
Clemons is responsible for selling all of Direxion’s buy-and-hold alternative investment strategy products to financial advisors across all channels, including wirehouse, regional broker dealers, registered investment advisor (RIA) and others in his territory. Clemons will serve advisors in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri, and be based in Texas.

The Isle of Man Fund Management Association (FMA) has appointed Ian Morley as the Isle of Man’s London representative for funds in a bid to further strengthen its commitment to attracting new UK and international business towards the Island.
Morley will work with the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development to create the new strategic business plan for the Isle of Man Funds Industry, focusing primarily on further developing links and opportunities with the City of London, a prime source of business for the Isle of Man’s funds sector.

The Futures and Options Association (FOA) is enhancing its regulatory resources with the appointment of Blake Stephenson as Manager, Regulation, with effect from 28 November. Stephenson joins the FOA from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) where he was part of the exchange supervision team. He is also a qualified solicitor.
At the same time, Simon Andrews has been promoted to Director of Commodities, a new role which will see him spearhead the FOA’s increased activities in this sector. Simon has been with the FOA for six years and has additional oversight of prudential regulation and taxation issues.

Gregory McGreevey is to join Invesco as head of Invesco Fixed Income on 28 November, 2011. Based in Atlanta. he will assume responsibility for the day-to-day business oversight of Invesco’s fixed income business, and willreport to Karen Dunn Kelley, senior managing director.
“I‘m pleased that Greg McGreevey, a respected industry veteran with 25 years’ investment and leadership experience, is joining Invesco,” says Kelley. “With his broad knowledge of the industry and strong investment background, McGreevey is uniquely qualified to continue taking Invesco’s fixed income business forward.”

Reto Gehring and Alexandre Potelle have joined SYZ Fund Research, Swiss bank SYZ & CO’s fund analysis and “long only” manager selection service. The two new staff members join the team of Katia Coudray Cornu, who was appointed Head of SYZ Fund Research in June 2011. Gehring has been appointed Head of Research, while Potelle is Senior Analyst.

GAM has appointed Anthony Lawler as a member of the senior management and the investment management committees of its Multi-Manager group, effective immediately.
He will focus on the ongoing expansion of GAM’s institutional business particularly in the US, through the construction of customised funds of hedge funds portfolios.
As a member of the core portfolio management team, Lawler will contribute to the construction of customised funds of hedge funds portfolios that match the requirements of institutional clients. In addition, he will be appointed Co-Manager for the GAM Diversity Institutional strategy which he will run together with David Smith, Chief Investment
Sanne Group has recently moved to new offices in London, which will now be led by corporate and institutional services director, Martin Schnaier (pictured).
Schnaier has joined Sanne Group from Babson Capital where he was finance director with responsibility for the firm’s mezzanine and private equity business. He has over 10 years experience in the finance industry working with institutional funds, venture capital trusts, private equity and debt funds.
Sanne’s London office provides relationship management services to corporate and institutional customers and intermediaries, working with them to deliver tailored administration solutions across a multi-jurisdictional platform.
