Halcyon Asset Management has appointed Rollo R Wigan as a Managing Principal in the firm’s UK office with primary responsibility for client relations in Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.
Wigan was most recently Managing Director of Marketing and Client Development at MKP Capital Management, LLC, where he held increasingly senior positions there, having joined the firm in March 2002. Wigan holds a BA from the University of the West of England, Bristol.

Liquidnet, the institutional equities marketplace, has appointed Scott Harrison as Global Head of Product with responsibility for overseeing, enhancing and building out the company’s product offerings. Based in New York, he will report directly to Liquidnet CEO and Founder Seth Merrin (pictured) and will be part of the Liquidnet Leadership team.

Molinero Capital Management has recruited a new Applied Research Group comprised of three senior researchers. The researchers were previously trading at Louis Dreyfus Commodities and represent on a combined basis about 40 years of trading experience.

MF Global Holdings Ltd (NYSE: MF), a broker-dealer providing trading and hedging solutions, has made several appointments within the firm’s senior management team. Bradley Abelow, the firm’s current global chief operating officer (COO), will assume the additional role of president, while Henri Steenkamp, the firm’s current chief accounting officer and global controller, has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO).
Steenkamp will succeed Randy MacDonald, who has served as CFO for the past three years and was recently appointed global head of the firm’s retail operations.

Horizon Cash Management has named Jill King as a partner. King, who also holds the titles senior vice president and senior portfolio manager, is responsible for directing all trading, operational and research functions.

Alternative Investment Group, an alternative investment management firm that invests in long/short equity strategies, has promoted Chris Ayton to Partner, effective January 1, 2011.
Ayton was previously Director of Investments, a position he has held since March 2008 when he joined the firm. He serves on the firm’s six-person Investment Committee.
Ayton, who is based in London and is the first Partner based internationally, is one one of seven equity partners at the firm. He will continue to focus on identifying and evaluating European and Asian managers.
