BNY Mellon Alternative Investment Services (AIS) has named Jim Whitaker head of Relationship Management for the Americas and Mark Mannion head of Relationship Management for EMEA.   Whitaker assumes a role held previously by Marina Lewin, who was recently named Global Head of Sales for AIS. Mannion assumes the new title having transitioned from his role as Managing Director of European Business for the former PNC Global Investment Servicing unit acquired by BNY Mellon last year.  KPMG’s investment management group is pleased to appoint Dan Roman (pictured) to its hedge funds tax practice. Roman joins as a partner from Ernst & Young where he advised hedge funds and private equity houses on UK and cross border tax matters. Prior to qualifying as a tax barrister, Roman worked in investment banking. Leading international law firm, Mourant Ozannes, has appointed Morven McMillan (pictured) and Julian Fletcher as Partners. Both will be based in the firm’s Cayman Islands office. Carne Global Financial Services, a provider of governance services to the global fund management industry, has appointed Carmel Jordan to its existing team of independent Dublin-based fund directors. Carne provides directors for a wide range of different fund structures and management companies for regulated funds.

 Jordan spent 18 years with the Bank of Ireland Group, where she held senior positions at group level as well as with Bank of Ireland Securities Services.She began her career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

U.S. Bancorp Fund Services has named Angie Pingel vice president and legal compliance officer. Pingel will specialise in registered proprietary fund and multiple series trust regulation and provide counsel on the Investment Company Act of 1940 and related securities laws to clients.   “Angie brings more than 15 years of experience in the mutual fund and general securities industries to U.S. Bancorp Fund Services. Steve Desmond joined Ardel in 2006 and has over 23 years experience in the financial services sector. Tikehau Investment Management is making a further push into the primary credit and private debt markets by hiring Fabrice Damien from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Damien was most recently responsible for corporate finance and leverage finance in France for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Aged 34, he has 13 years of financial services experience having also worked previously worked for RBS and Morgan Stanley in their high yield origination and leveraged finance groups in London. Damien holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sorbonne University and a MsC in Finance and Management from HEC School of Management in Paris.

Sean Capstick is to assume added responsibility for EMEA Equity Research Sales at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML). In addition, Charlotte Burkeman is joining the company as managing director and co-head of EMEA Prime Brokerage alongside Capstick. Burkeman is expected to join in late June. Both Burkeman and Capstick will report to John Addis, head of EMEA Global Markets Financing and Futures, and together they will be responsible for further developing BAML’s Global Markets prime brokerage offering in the region.
