Mulvaney Capital Management has appointed Dudley Fishburn (pictured) as Non-Executive Chairman. Fishburn has broad experience in corporate governance across the world having served on the Board of HSBC Bank plc from 2002 to 2009 and is currently a director of Philip Morris International Inc.
He also has served on the Board of Overseers of Harvard University and was a Member of Parliament for Kensington from 1988 to 1997. Previously he had been Executive Editor of The Economist for nine years.

State Street Corporation has appointed Craig Butterworth as head of fixed income sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Butterworth will lead State Street Global Market’s fixed income sales team and will be responsible for expanding its rates business with new and existing clients. State Street Global Markets launched its fixed income rates business in 2010 in response to market demand and opportunities for integrated and diversified trading strategies. The business, which provides fixed income rates trading and sales coverage to institutional clients now has more than 60 front office professionals, primarily based in the UK and US.

Newedge has made two senior appointments to in its New York office. John Fay (pictured) has been named Global Head of the firm’s FICC Business Line (Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities), and Bill Sexton has joined as head of the Americas Region, taking over Fay’s previous permanent role.
Fay has been Acting Head of FICC since October 2010, while also serving in a dual role as Head of the Americas Region. John joined Newedge in December 2009 after serving as Co-CEO and Co-President of Instinet. He also previously held senior level positions with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. 


Man Group plc has appointed Emmanuel Roman, Chief Operating Officer, as an executive director and Matthew Lester as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Roman joined Man as Chief Operating Officer in October 2010 following the completion of the acquisition of GLG Partners. In this group-wide position, he has played a leading role in the integration of GLG and is responsible for product development and operations at the combined business. He joined GLG in 2005 as Co-Chief Executive Officer after eighteen years with Goldman Sachs.

BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking (BNP Paribas) has appointed Stephen Hale, as Head of Hedge Fund Relationship Management Europe, further strengthening the bank’s European coverage of hedge funds.
Hale joined the Investor Relationship Management team in London at the end of April and reports to Stefano Blotto, Head of Investor Relationship Management team in Europe. Stephen will be responsible for further expanding the BNPP’s hedge funds franchise across Europe leveraging his wealth of experience and strong client contacts.

Carey Olsen senior associate David Crosland (pictured) was called to the Guernsey Bar last month having passed his Bar exams to become an advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey.
Crosland is a member of Carey Olsen’s corporate group where he undertakes a wide range of corporate transactions, with a particular focus on private equity, and the launch, administration, restructuring and listing of both closed and open-ended investment funds. As well as private equity funds, he has advised funds listed on the LSE, AIM, Euronext and the CISX.
Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2007, Crosland trained at Clifford Chance

Robert J Boulware, former CEO of ING Funds Distributor, has accepted a partnership offer with multi-strategy alternative investment manager Palo Verde Capital, effective immediately.

Karam joined Harmonic Capital as a trader in 2003 having previously worked at MAN-Fidex as a multi-asset execution trader. He began his career 12 years ago as a Futures and Options Sales Trader at Marshall, French and Lucas. Karam was made Head of Dealing at Harmonic in 2009 and in his new role
