Permal Investment Management Services has appointed Paul Jeffries (pictured) to its institutional team, where he will be responsible for the Group’s UK Institutional business. Jeffries joins Permal on 1 June from Railpen Investments and will report to Roberto Giuffrida, Executive Vice President and Co Head Global Business Development.   At Railpen Investments, the UK railways pension scheme and one of the largest UK schemes, Mr Jeffries managed the GBP8 billion global equity multimanager portfolio, investing in both traditional and alternative managers. Lisa Le Gresley (pictured) has recently joined Jersey Trust Company (JTC) as a Director in the Corporate Services Division and will focus on developing JTC’s fund services and real estate client base. Le Gresley is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA. She will be responsible for building relationships with the local funds’ industry, developing new business opportunities and acting as client director on a portfolio of international fund clients. Having previously worked as a director in the Corporate Fiduciary Funds Division at Kleinwort Benson, Le Gresley has over 10 years’ funds industry experience with specific expertise in offshore structuring
Sean Foley (pictured) has been appointed the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administration Officer of Butterfield Fulcrum, a leading independent fund administrator, and FORS Limited, an independent provider of family office and wealth management reporting and administrative services. Butterfield Fulcrum and FORS were recently brought together into one entity offering comprehensive outsourcing solutions across the alternative investment management, family office and trust industries. The two companies are run as separate businesses by their respective management.

Long-short, emerging market, total-return specialist Finisterre Capital has appointed two new Portfolio Managers, Maxim Safonov and Rahul Sharma. Safonov has joined the Finisterre Global Opportunity Fund, where he will be responsible for FX and local rates trading. He joins Finisterre from FrontPoint Global Macro Emerging Markets Fund, where he traded rates, credit, FX, equities and commodities. He began his career at ING Bank in Moscow, where he became Head of Financial Markets and Deputy Chairman of the Board. State Street Corporation has appointed Maria Cantillon as global head of sales for State Street’s Alternative Investment Solutions business. Based in London, Cantillon, reports to Scott FitzGerald, head of sales for State Street’s Global Services Americas business. Cantillon was previously head of Alternative Investment Managers and a Member of the Executive Committee at BNP Paribas Securities Services in London. Dan Kozlowski, a former Janus Capital Group portfolio manager, is returning to the firm on June 13, 2011 to spearhead Janus’ alternatives product expansion and to succeed David Decker as manager of Janus Contrarian Fund.
