Dalton Strategic Partnership (DSP) has appointed Keith Busuttil as an analyst on the European absolute return equities team, based in London. Busuttil will work alongside Leonard Charlton, portfolio manager, David Robinson and Benjamin Billiard on the award-winning Melchior European equity long short strategies, including the UCITS version which soft closed in May having reached USD500 million. HazelTree Fund Services, Inc., a New York-based provider of Treasury management services for alternative investment managers, has announced the election of Ron Suber (pictured) to its board of directors, effective immediately. As Senior Partner and Head of Global Sales and Marketing for Merlin Securities, Suber will provide HazelTree with the benefit of his more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, strategy and business development across the hedge fund, broker dealer and registered investment adviser industries. Alternative Investment Group, a fund of hedge funds that invests primarily in long/short equity strategies, has appointed Michael J Tansley as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Tansley will be based in Alternative Investment Group’s Southport, CT office and will oversee the firm’s accounting, audit, tax, internal controls, information management, and administrative operations. The London Metal Exchange (LME) has appointed Colin Griffith as a consultant for its LME Precious Metals Services.   Griffith will be working with the project lead, Joanna Stuart, together with Chris Evans, Head of Business Development, to promote and market the various LME services for the London precious metals markets. These services currently include a joint initiative with the LBMA to collect and distribute gold, silver and gold IRS curves as well as a joint initiative with LCH.Clearnet to clear OTC gold trades based on Loco London delivery for LBMA clearing members. The Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) has announced the election of the new president, Marc Saluzzi, who takes up the rolls, which will run for two years, with immediate effect.   Saluzzi has been on the board of Alfi since 2001. The Hedge Fund Standards Board (HFSB) has appointed Dame Amelia Fawcett (pictured) as its new Chairman. A former Non-Executive Director of the Bank of England and Vice Chairman of Morgan Stanley International, Dame Amelia will take up the post on 1st July 2011. Sansoucy was previously Senior Manager of Operational Due Diligence at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), where he led the operational due diligence process overseeing external portfolio fund investments. CPPIB, based in Toronto, had assets of USD148.2 billion as at March 31, 2011.
