Hedgebay, a pioneer of the secondary hedge fund market, has appointed leading hedge fund industry figure Lindsey Clavel to lead the firm’s European operations.
As Managing Director for Europe, Clavel will be responsible for determining the strategic direction and growth of the Hedgebay business. While her principal focus will centre on the firm’s European business, Lindsey will also have responsibility for Hedgebay’s operations in MENA and Australasia.
Since joining the firm six years ago, Clavel has played a central role in the rapid growth of the firm’s business. Last June, Clavel was appointed to lead Hedgebay’s business development in
EDHEC-Risk Institute is delighted to announce that Professor Frank J Fabozzi (pictured), academic and author and editor of over 100 reference textbooks in finance, will be joining EDHEC-Risk Institute on August 1, 2011.
Professor Fabozzi will be joining EDHEC-Risk Institute as part of its North American strategy and will be working on the development of EDHEC-Risk Institute North America with Professor Lionel Martellini, Scientific Director of EDHEC-Risk Institute, who will be in charge of North American development for the Institute from the beginning of the 2011/2012 academic year. Professor Fabozzi will also supervise dissertations of candidates to the EDHEC-Risk Institute
Citigroup has hired Francesca De Bartolomeo as a Director, Head of Southern Europe Investor Sales for its Securities and Fund Services business within its Global Transaction Services unit.
Based in Luxembourg, reporting to Jose Longree, EMEA Head of Client Sales Management for Investors, De Bartolomeo will also be responsible for sourcing business from Latin America into EMEA in cooperation with Citi’s Latin American teams.
De Bartolomeo brings 15 years of experience in the funds industry. She joins from Caceis Investor Services where she was Head of Regional Coverage for Southern Europe and Latin America.
Richard Ernesti, Global Head
The Conifer Group, LLC (Conifer), a provider of fund administration, middle office, trading and prime brokerage services to the hedge fund industry, has named Peter O’Connell (pictured) as its Chief Financial Officer. Prior to accepting this position, O’Connell was the President and founder of Conifer Fund Services offshore fund administration business.
In addition, Conifer has also named Douglas Lang as President of Conifer Fund Services and David Bateman as Director and Head of Conifer Fund Services, BVI.

Kevin Huby has been appointed a Member at Kinetic Partners to focus on building the firm’s risk management and remediation services. This new appointment will complement and significantly strengthen Kinetic Partners’ highly regarded regulation and compliance service offering.
Huby joins Kinetic Partners from Ernst & Young, where he established and led a team focusing on the investigation and resolution of accounting, operational and regulatory control failure.

Schroders has appointed Bob Jolly to a new role on its fixed income team as Head of Global Macro based in London. Jolly, who joins in September, will also take on lead portfolio management responsibility for a number of macro and multi-sector portfolios managed by a team of ten in London.
Current mandates include aggregate, sovereign and absolute return strategies with nearly USD15bn of assets under management. Jolly will also work with regional portfolio managers in Asia and the US to further develop Schroders’ global macro investment framework.

EFAMA, the European Fund and Asset Management Association, has elected Claude Kremer as its President for a two-year term. The election of the new EFAMA head took place in Lucerne during the association’s Annual General Meeting.
The representatives of the European investment management industry also appointed two Vice-Presidents, Mr Christian Dargnat and Mr Massimo Tosato. It is the first time that EFAMA has elected two Vice Presidents, reflecting its commitment to engaging with the industry regulatory and operating environment.
The new President, Mr Kremer, has already served as Vice-President and will succeed Jean-Baptiste de Franssu who served for two years. Kremer

NYSE Euronext has appointed Finbarr Hutcheson as Executive Vice President Global OTC Services. Hutcheson takes up his appointment on 1 July and will work closely with market users to develop new services to support the global over-the-counter (OTC) markets in response to regulatory reform and the industry’s ongoing efforts to improve market structures.
Hutcheson will be based in London and report directly to Duncan Niederauer, Chief Executive Officer of NYSE Euronext.
