Private client, corporate services and fund administration business Oak Group (Oak) has appointed James Tracey as managing director of its funds business in Guernsey, subject to regulatory approval. Tracey, who has joined Oak from JTC Group in Guernsey where he has been managing director since 2018, is heading up Oak Fund Services, which delivers specialist bespoke fund administration services to private equity, open ended, listed and alternative asset fund structures. Tracey has a career in the finance industry spanning more than 20 years and has extensive knowledge of investment and wealth management structures across a wide variety of asset classes.
Capital markets services provider Options Technology has appointed Una McLornan as VP, account management, colocation operations. McLornan joined Options through the graduate programme in 2015 from NYSE Technologies, where she served as an Enterprise Software Support Engineer for two years.
Infini, a Hong Kong-based hedge fund is looking to recruit at least ten portfolio managers, according to a report by efinancialcareers. The multi-strategy fund’s current recruitment drive includes the appointment of a chief risk officer, who will join the firm in the coming weeks. Infinity increased its headcount by over 340 per cent in 2021 including the recruitment of five new portfolio managers including Jim Song, who is focused on global macro strategy. The new portfolio managers are being recruited to manage a range of different strategies including ADRs and equity long/short covering Asia and global markets.
Kirkland & Ellis has appointed Nicole Runyan, William Tuttle, Brad Green, Erin Lett, David Marcinkus and Lisa Goldstein as partners in the firm’s Investment Funds Group. The team focuses on advising registered funds and business development companies (BDCs) — as well as their investment advisers and independent board members — and investment banks, with a particular emphasis on products designed for high net worth and retail investors. CRUX Asset Management (CRUX), an active equity investment manager, has bolstered its specialist UK equities investment team with the appointment of investment analyst Tom Messenger. Messenger will support AAA Citywire-rated fund manager, Richard Penny, on the TM CRUX UK Special Situations Fund and the TM CRUX UK Core Fund. He joins from Momentum Investment Solutions & Consulting, where he has been an investment analyst since July 2018. Prior to that he was an equity research analyst at Third Bridge Group Limited.
BTIG has added James Mozer to its Structured Product business within BTIG’s Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities division as a managing director. Mozer brings more than thirteen years of industry experience to the firm. Prior to BTIG, he held several positions at Morgan Stanley, most recently as executive director and head of the Non-Agency Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) and Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) Desk. Earlier in his career at Morgan Stanley, Mozer was a vice president, Subprime and Options Trader as well as a RMBS Trader. Options Technology, a leading Capital Markets services provider, has appointed Shaun Jackson as chief commercial officer. Jackson joined Options in April 2021 with two decades of experience in Finance and Commercial management roles. He previously worked at Luxoft, First Data (now Fiserv), and most recently at Fixnetix, where he held Chief Financial Officer and Chief Commercial Officer roles over his eleven-year tenure.
Managed Funds Association (MFA), the trade association for the global alternative asset management industry, has hired David Lourie as Vice President and Senior Counsel, Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining MFA, Lourie served as Associate General Counsel at General Atlantic. Lourie brings a decade of experience in the alternative investment industry. Prior to joining MFA, he was Associate General Counsel and Vice President at General Atlantic where he worked closely on issues relating to ESG. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a law degree from the University of Southern California.
