Global law firm Ropes & Gray has named 24 attorneys as partners of the firm, while six attorneys have been named counsel, effective 1 November, in the largest round of partner and counsel promotions in the firm’s 153-year history. Cross-asset liquidity provider XTX Markets (XTX) has chosen Paris as its post-Brexit EU hub. XTX has filed an application with the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution, the French regulator, to operate a regulated firm in France.   As one of the largest liquidity providers in European equities with a passive market share of continuous trading volumes on lit Pan-European equity venues of over 11.50 per cent and being the third largest FX liquidity provider globally, XTX is opening an office in Paris as part of its preparation for the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union.   XTX
The Supervisory Board of the European Energy Exchange (EEX) has confirmed Chief Financial Officer Iris Weidinger and Chief Executive Officer Peter Reitz (pictured), as members of the Management Board, and extended their mandates by another five-year term. Saxo Bank, the multi-asset trading and investment specialist, has appointed Lars Kufall Beck as Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective no later than 1 May 2019. Kufall Beck will report directly to Steen Blaafalk, Head of Group Finance & Risk (GFR) and Group CFRO. Spouting Rock Financial Partners has named investment industry veteran John Coyne as chairman of its asset management group effective immediately.  This is a new role for the firm which last month announced the launch of its asset management arm. Coyne was formerly Vice Chairman of Brinker Capital, a position which capped a 30-year career with the firm he co-founded. Spouting Rock Asset Management offers a niche allocation suite of strategies that seek to capitalise on market inefficiencies.
