Oliver Quarmby has joined Ogier’s Guernsey investment funds and private equity team as a managing associate. Agilis Investment Management, an independent multi-asset fund manager, has appointed Charles Crowson as a Partner and Head of Trading. The news comes as the firm approaches the first-year anniversary of its multi-strategy defensive-growth Fund. 

 In his new role, Charles will be responsible for trade execution and will contribute to idea generation. Crowson joins Agilis from hedge fund Mason Capital, where he headed up the London office for ten years overseeing trading of event-driven and special-situation strategies across equity, equity derivatives and fixed income.

Man Group, the active investment management firm, has appointed Teun Draaisma as portfolio manager, based in London. Draaisma will work in partnership with Ben Funnell, the head of the Man Dynamic Alpha team, to develop a new multi-asset strategy. Draaisma (pictured), brings over two decades of industry experience to Man Group. He joins the firm from BlackRock, where he was Global Equity Strategist for almost six years, focusing on portfolio management and asset allocation. Prior to BlackRock, he spent time as a portfolio manager at TT International. Draaisma was previously European Equity Strategist at Morgan Stanley from 1997 to 2010.

Martin Currie has appointed Zehrid Osmani, to lead its Global Long-Term Unconstrained (GLTU) team. Osmani’s appointment builds on Martin Currie’s equity capability, as it looks to further extend its presence in the institutional and wholesale markets. Based in Edinburgh, Osmani (pictured), who joined the business on 14 May, reports into John Pickard, Head of Investment.     Osmani has taken over from industry veteran, Tom Walker, who has stepped down as team head as part of a considered succession plan. Walker and Osmani will work together during a transitional period, which will involve the gradual handover of Tom’s key responsibilities.
