Mirabaud Securities has launched the Mirabaud Securities Global Thematic Group, a specialist team that assesses macro themes and fundamental stock ideas to identify interesting opportunities for investors.
The team is led by Global TMT Analyst Neil Campling and Head of Sales Toby Clothier, who previously worked together at Northern Trust Capital Markets (and prior to that at Aviate Global, which was then acquired by Northern Trust).
Neil Campling began his career at Prolific Asset Management and spent 13 years as a TMT Fund Manager at Aberdeen Asset Management and New Star before moving to the sell-side at Aviate
Alternative investment manager Highland Capital Management has added two institutional business development professionals to its team – Laurie Whetstone as managing director, and Kieran Brennan as director.
The appointments have been made in anticipation of increased opportunities in distressed credit.

Angelo, Gordon & Co, an alternative investment firm focused on credit and real estate investing, has appointed Ryan Mollett as Global Head of Distressed Debt.
Mollett was most recently a Senior Managing Director of GSO Capital Partners LP, the global credit investment platform of Blackstone, where he focused on distressed and special situation investing. Mollett will report to Josh Baumgarten, Angelo, Gordon’s co-Chief Investment Officer.

Online multi-asset trading and investment specialist, Saxo Bank, has appointed Ulrik Ross as Head of Group Treasury, effective 1 March, 2018.
Ross (pictured), will report directly to Steen Blaafalk, Head of Group Finance & Risk (GFR), and will be part of the global management team in GFR and Saxo Group’s Senior Management Team (SMT).
In his role, Ross will assume the overall responsibility for all Treasury activities, including managing the bank’s liquidity and professional bank and broker relations. He will also be responsible for pricing the Bank’s capital and liquidity resources, as well as contributing to a strategic approach
Merus Global Investments, a multi‐strategy investment partnership, has opened a new office in Boca Raton, Florida and added trading industry veterans Seth Setrakian and Roger Egbert to the firm’s team.

Lee Hodgkinson, Head of Markets and Global Sales of Euronext and CEO of Euronext London Ltd, has decided to pursue a new professional project.
Hodgkinson (pictured), will leave in April after more than nine years with the company, to serve as CEO of OSTC, a London-based proprietary trading firm which operates from 14 offices around the world. Hodgkinson will actively participate in the transition process during his notice period.

Guggenheim Investments, the global asset management and investment advisory division of Guggenheim Partners, has appointed Brian E Binder has been appointed as a Senior Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer. He is based in Guggenheim’s Chicago office.
Binder (pictured), has over 24 years of experience in the asset management industry. He joins Guggenheim Investments from Deutsche Asset Management, where he was a Managing Director, President of the Deutsche Funds and Head of US Product, Trading and Fund Administration. Previously, Binder was Head of Business Management and Consulting at Invesco, where he served as Chairman of the US Executive Management Committee.
O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM), a quantitative money management firm with approximately USD6.9 billion in assets under management (AUM) and assets under advisement (AUA), has named Patrick O’Shaughnessy, CFA (pictured), as the firm’s CEO.
He succeeds Jim O’Shaughnessy, OSAM’s founder, who remains in his role as Chairman and Chief Investment Officer.

CIFC, a credit manager specialising in US corporate and structured credit strategies, has appointed Jay Huang as a Managing Director, Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Structured Products Investments.
Huang (pictured), will oversee CIFC’s structured products investments business.
