Man Group has introduced a new senior management structure alongside a number of internal promotions, following the naming of Luke Ellis as chief executive officer (CEO). The internal management changes will reallocate certain responsibilities, in line with the growth and diversification of the business.   Jonathan Sorrell’s role as president of Man Group has developed to include a number of areas across the business and the intention is that he will step down as the chief financial officer (CFO), following an orderly transition to the new CFO.   Under his new remit as president, Sorrell will focus alongside Ellis (pictured)
Three structured finance partners – Michael Smith, Diala Minott and Cameron Saylor – are to join the London office of law firm Paul Hastings from Ashurst. Spring Valley Asset Management (SVAM) has appointed Brian Zeitz as its chief technology officer (CTO), with responsibility for the management and oversight of the firm's technology infrastructure. Man Group has appointed Brian Broesder and Westin Lovy as managing directors based in firm’s Connecticut office. They are both joining from Bridge Lane Capital, a firm they co-founded in 2012 which specialises in private debt transactions with small and lower middle market companies in North America.   Broesder and Lovy will continue to manage Bridge Lane’s portfolios at Man Group. Bridge Lane currently has over USD125 million in committed capital.   Prior to co-founding Bridge Lane in 2012, Broesder was managing director and portfolio manager at credit manager Whitecap Advisors, which he joined at its inception in 2003.   Broesder’s
Joshua J Yang has joined the Chicago office of K&L Gates as a partner in the firm’s investment management, hedge funds and alternative investments practice. He joins K&L Gates from Winston & Strawn.   Yang represents investment managers in the formation and structuring of private funds, including hedge funds, commingled funds, and group and collective investment trusts.   A chartered financial analyst, he also advises banks, registered funds, and hedge funds in derivatives documentation as well as on a broad range of Dodd-Frank and US Commodity Futures Trading Commission registration and compliance issues.   Additionally, Yang counsels Chinese futures companies
Context Summits, a producer of investment summits for the alternative asset management industry, has appointed Sarah Huntington as chief marketing officer. Hawksford has appointed a chief operating officer with 25 years’ financial services experience to lead and build its recently established Cayman Islands office. Tony Buche has joined Pure Capital to lead the firm’s third party services offering. He will be the primary contact with asset managers looking to establish their funds in Luxembourg and requiring fully independent Manco services.
