Jennifer Grady and Craig A Newman have been named as managing partners of Richards Kibbe & Orbe (RK&O).
The pair succeed Kenneth Werner who has served as managing partner for the past four years.
Grady joined RK&O in 2004 and is a partner in the firm’s corporate group. She has substantial experience representing banks, broker-dealers, funds and other financial institutions in connection with transactions in the derivatives, distressed debt and claims trading markets. She has also advised trade organisations and financial institutions in connection with the evolving regulatory treatment of loan-based derivative transactions. Grady is a member of the firm’s executive committee.
Elementum Advisors has promoted Jake Weber and Nick Jagoda to principal, effective 1 January 2014.
Both Weber and Jagoda have been an integral part of its success dating back to the team’s tenure at Stark Investments and have performed critical roles for Elementum since its launch in 2009.
During 2013, they have strengthened the depth in the catastrophe modelling team and grown Elementum’s presence in Bermuda. Additionally, both have taken on more public roles representing Elementum with external constituencies such as investors, intermediaries and counterparties. Ogier has appointed Shameer Jasani as a partner in the firm’s Cayman Islands corporate and funds team. 
 

Jasani’s practice is focused on investment funds, including hedge funds, funds of funds and private equity funds.
He advises investment managers on all aspects of their structuring, formation and ongoing operational requirements. He also regularly advises strategic and seed investors.
In addition to his investment funds practice, Jasani is one of Cayman's leading practitioners on intellectual property law matters, and also regularly advises on acquisitions, joint ventures and a wide range of other corporate law matters.

Carmignac Gestion Group has appointed four-man European equities team, headed by Muhammed Yesilhark.
The team is based in Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg’s London branch and will assume management of EUR1.6bn of European funds: Carmignac Grande Europe, Carmignac Euro-Patrimoine and Carmignac Euro-Entrepreneurs.
Yesilhark and his team previously managed a large European equity portfolio for four years at SAC Global Investors’ London office.

Ramius has appointed Bradley Sussman as managing director and head of liquid alternative products.
In his role, Sussman will be responsible for the firm's mutual fund platform and growing its suite of liquid alternative products.
Sussman is a managing director, hedge fund strategist at Merrill Lynch where he has been a member of the investment committee for alternative investments and head of non-traditional mutual fund due diligence.

Prior to Coherence Capital Cannon spent 16 years at UBS Investment Bank, most recently as managing director and co-head of investment grade credit trading.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has named Michael J Osnato, Jr as chief of the enforcement division unit that conducts investigations into complex financial instruments.
Osnato, who joined the SEC staff in 2008 and has served as an assistant director in the New York regional office since 2010, has played a key role in a number of significant SEC enforcement actions.
