Timothy A Spangler has joined Sidley Austin in Los Angeles as a partner and member of Sidley’s global investment funds, advisers and derivatives practice.
Spangler brings extensive experience in advising clients on an array of investment vehicles and related securities and regulatory issues.
Spangler served as chair of the investment funds group at his prior firm. He has worked on a wide range of funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds and funds of funds. He also has experience with funds investing in particular countries or sectors across numerous jurisdictions including the US, UK, Cayman Islands,
Brownstone Investment Group, a fixed income investment firm, has expanded its municipal trading and electronic market making units with the hiring of Matthew Martines as managing director.
Martines joins Paul Sitarz, a seasoned muni expert with more than 30 years of experience, who came to Brownstone last year to launch its municipal bond business. Brownstone trader Josh Rosenblum rounds out the muni team.
Martines comes to Brownstone from Morgan Stanley, where he spent more than 15 years in various leadership roles within fixed income trading and electronic market making.

Cantor Fitzgerald Europe is further expanding its European structured credit desk with the appointment of Sheil Aggarwal as managing director.

Misys has appointed Martin Häring as chief marketing officer. He joins the business from the cloud-based content and application delivery network provider Akamai, where he was vice president marketing and channels.
Häring’s role is to strengthen the Misys brand and augment the customer and partner marketing organisation. In this role, Frongello will be responsible for coordinating BI-SAM's client training programmes.
