Law firm Ashurst has hired Nick Terras to join its derivatives products group. Terras specialises in hedge funds, Ucits funds, exchange-traded funds and related derivatives. His clients include European and US financial institutions as well as hedge funds and mutual funds. Terras joins Ashurst from Schulte Roth & Zabel International where he was a partner in the investment management group. Prior to joining Schulte Roth, Terras was a partner and co-head of structured finance and investment funds at another US firm. EFX Prime Services, a division of First New York Securities, has hired two prime brokerage executives to help lead EFX Prime’s sales efforts. Both will be based at EFX Prime’s New York Headquarters at 90 Park Avenue. Jonathan Shapiro joins EFX Prime from Goldman Sachs where he was a senior relationship manager. With a strong operational background based on ten years of prime services experience, Shapiro will assist EFX Prime clients address operational and infrastructure challenges. International Asset Management, a fund of hedge fund investment manager, has appointed Nan Mead as vice president of client development. Based in IAM’s New York office, Mead will report to head of client development and marketing Andrew Cade.  She has extensive experience in marketing, sales and investor relations having previously worked at Ivy and Credit Suisse in similar marketing focused positions.  Morten Spenner, chief executive at IAM, says: "We are delighted to appoint Nan as a vice president within our client development team. RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has hired Tracy Maeter as head of investments, British Isles. Maeter will be based in London and will be responsible for oversight of RBC Wealth Management’s discretionary and advisory investments platforms in the British Isles. Maeter joins RBC from HSBC in London, where she was head of investors. During her five-year tenure there, she also held the positions of team head, sales management and team head, high net worth. Alternative asset manager Man has boosted its UK institutional sales team with the appointment of Tim Fitch as a senior relationship manager. Nottingham Investment Administration, a provider of accounting and portfolio record keeping services for hedge funds, mutual funds, governments, foundations and other investment pools, has named Lori Kahramanidis director of hedge fund services. BlueCrest Capital Management has appointed Daniel Kajiya as a portfolio manager for its emerging markets fund.  Kajiya will be based in London. He joins from Morgan Stanley in Brazil where he was responsible primarily for USDBRL market making and proprietary trading.     The appointment follows the hiring last month of Marcin Wiszniewski to the same fund. Liontrust Asset Management has appointed Nick Wells as a consultant to advise on business development.   In this newly created role, Wells will contribute to the development of a number of parts of the business.
