Aspect Capital, the London-based systematic investment manager, has appointed Eduardo Deschapelles to the position of senior North American sales executive.
Deschapelles will focus on further developing Aspect’s institutional sales efforts in the US and will report to John Wareham (pictured), Aspect’s chief commercial officer.
Deschapelles joins Aspect from Meridian Capital Partners of New York, where he was a partner and business development manager.
Prior to this he was an employee of Permal Group, part of the Legg Mason Group, from 2004 to 2008. He was most recently senior vice president, responsible for the development and management of the firm’s
Asset manager GLG Partners has appointed Raffaele Costa as the co-head of marketing.
Raffaele will work alongside Emmanuel Roman, the firm’s co-chief executive, to develop and execute GLG’s global product and distribution strategy.
“Raffaele has been with GLG since we started in 1995 and has been responsible for originating and managing many of the firm’s key account relationships,” says Pierre Lagrange (pictured), partner and founder of GLG. “This gives him an unrivalled understanding of our existing and potential investors, and a strong sense of the products we should be offering.”

MF Global, an intermediary offering solutions in global cash, derivatives and related markets, has appointed David P. Bolger and David Gelber to its board of directors.
Gelber will replace Lawrence Schloss as chairman of the compensation committee.
Schloss was recently appointed as deputy comptroller for pensions and chief investment officer for the City of New York and has stepped down from the board, effective immediately, to dedicate his time to his new position.

Russian brokerage Otkritie Securities has appointed two Russia and CIS market figures to its new financing services group team.
Temo Jorbenadze and Dmitry Perman will join the firm’s investment banking financing services group as head and director respectively.
The financing services group will provide the firm’s clients with a broad spectrum of financing solutions, including access to public and private capital markets.
Jorbenadze has extensive experience in the CIS region and Russia. Prior to joining Otkritie, Jorbenadze was a director for investment banking at VTB Capital in London, where he was responsible for the development of the European financial sponsor
John W. Henry, a Florida-based alternative asset manager specialising in managed futures, has named Larry Simms managing director – business development.
Simms is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of all sales and marketing efforts for JWH and its affiliated entities.
Simms will be working closely with senior management and the firm’s board of directors chaired by John Henry.
Simms has over 25 years of sales experience. He has spent the last 20 years focused on investment management sales mainly covering institutional clients for firms including Citigroup, Bankers Trust, UBS and Wells Fargo.

Earth Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on renewable energy, has hired a sustainable agriculture and forestry investment team from IBIS Capital Management and EMP Global.
Bosworth Monck joins as head of sustainable agriculture and forestry investment, and Gabriel Montana and Richard Smith join as partners.
The team will advise on agriculture, forestry and biodiversity investments, with a particular focus on deploying capital in Latin America.
Earth Capital Partners plans to launch a series of institutional grade funds in these areas, each with appropriate risk-return characteristics and low correlation to traditional asset classes.

Yves Perrier, chief executive of asset management firm Amundi, has revealed the new corporate governance structure of the company.
Investment solutions for retail network will provide the networks of the Crédit Agricole and Société Générale groups and other partner networks with a range of investment products and solutions, tailored to the specific needs of each network’s customer base, sales and marketing support.
Institutional investments will provide its institutional clients and distributors with all Amundi’s expertise – fixed income, equities, absolute return and investment solutions – backed up by sales coverage of all countries and customer service.

Hathersage Capital Management, a discretionary absolute return currency manager, has appointed Momtchil Pojarliev as director and senior portfolio manager, a newly created role.
Pojarliev (pictured) reports to and works alongside Bill Lipschutz, head of portfolio management and founder.
