Kathryn Latti has joined Kinetic Partners as a consultant in the area of forensics and corporate recovery.
Her areas of specialty include managing investigations, large-scale fraud engagements, insolvencies, and other litigious situations.
Prior to joining Kinetic Partners, Latti spent two years with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ investment management assurance practice.
Latti is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of New York and earned a M.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting at the University of Colorado.

Financial services firm Capstone Holdings Group has hired Heiko Ebens as global head of research.
Ebens (pictured) joins Capstone after seven years at Merrill Lynch, where he last served as a managing director and head of global equity derivatives research overseeing a 15-member team.
Ebens’ team built the firm’s research-driven structured product platform which raised USD13.6bn in assets.

Law firm Walkers has appointed Carol Hall as head of its newly-formed investment funds group in Hong Kong.
Hall has more than 17 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and investment funds, including 11 years specifically in Hong Kong.
She specialises in hedge funds and private equity funds and has led the development of Walkers’ hedge funds practice in Hong Kong since joining as a partner in 2005.
Hall will be supported in her role by partner Denise Wong who has a focus on hedge funds, private equity funds and all areas of corporate transactions.

Tom Holland has been appointed as a partner in Cube Capital, the London-based alternative investment and advisory firm.
Based in Hong Kong, Holland runs Cube’s Asia activities and is portfolio manager of the QBridge Fund, Cube’s award winning specialist Asia distressed and credit fund.
He is the first Cube employee to be made partner, joining the three founding partners of the investment company.
Holland started at Cube in early 2006 after working with Income Partners, an Asian credit fund, as a portfolio manager for private and liquid credit products. A US national, he came to Asia in 1997 with JP
Investment banking firm Duff & Phelps has appointed Alan Swersky as a director in the portfolio valuation service line and head of the firm’s operational and risk due diligence group, based in the New York office.
Duff & Phelps’ operational and risk due diligence practice provides investors with a third party assessment of their hedge fund managers’ operating policies and procedures.
Swersky has spent a majority of his career in the alternative asset management community.
Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, he was global head of operational due diligence at Olympia Capital Management, a Paris-based fund of funds with USD3bn
Nexar Capital Group, an alternative investment manager, has appointed Russell O’Brien as a managing director – institutional sales and consultant relations, North America.
O’Brien was previously at Russell Investments, where he was a director of alternative investments.
Prior to Russell Investments, O’Brien was head of North American sales and marketing for Credit Suisse’s transition management business.
In his 23 year career, O’Brien has developed relationships with endowments and foundations, corporations, public funds and Taft Hartley organisations, as well as consulting firms.

Investment manager Omni Partners has appointed the team responsible for overseeing the Omni Global Fund Asia portfolio.
Matthew Moskey has joined the firm as portfolio manager and Erik Senko has joined as head of trading.
Omni has also completed the incorporation of its Hong Kong subsidiary, Tiresias Capital Hong Kong, and the opening of its Hong Kong office.
Both Moskey and Senko will be based in the Hong Kong office. They will be joined by Rahul Patel, who has been with the firm since 2006.
Moskey was previously head of Centaurus Capital’s Hong Kong office and a responsible officer

Ineichen (pictured) will be responsible for the research and product development for satellite investments, focussing on alternative investments, absolute return strategies, commodities, energy and credit.

Alternative investment manager Arrow Capital Management has appointed Ivan Wanat as director of business development.
Wanat will be responsible for leading the firm’s marketing and client service efforts with a focus on institutional investors and consultants.
Wanat will report to co-managing members Mal Serure and Alex von Furstenberg.

Newedge, a provider of multi-asset brokerage and clearing services, has named Laurent Cunin head of Asia Pacific region and Pierre Gay global head of fixed income, currency and commodities.
Gay will remain based in Hong Kong at least during the first quarter of 2010 making the transition with Cunin, who will be replacing him at the head of Asia Pacific region.
Cunin was acting chief executive Americas and head of sales Americas. He previously spent a total of eight years in Asia, and until 2005 was the head of Fimat’s Tokyo office.
