Offshore law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune has appointed four Jersey-based partners.
James Hill became an equity partner of Mourant du Feu & Jeune earlier this year, and Felicia de Laat (pictured), Joel Hernandez and Michael Williams have been invited to become partners of Mourant LP.
The appointments are planned to take effect from 1 February 2010.
The promotions bolster the firm’s funds and finance and corporate practices in Jersey.

Newedge, a provider of multi-asset brokerage and clearing, has named John Fay senior managing director and head of Americas region.
Fay will be based in New York and will focus on expanding and strengthening Newedge’s business lines in the region.
Fay will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s regional performance, and will oversee local risk, compliance and regulatory issues.
Fay also joins as a Newedge executive committee member, reporting directly to Patrice Blanc, Newedge chief executive, and Nicolas Breteau, global head of sales and front office.
Fay was previously co-chief executive and co-president of Instinet. He began his financial
Partners Group, a Switzerland-based global alternative asset manager, has made two senior management promotions as well as some organisational changes.
The firm has promoted the following two members of the management team from senior vice presidents to managing directors: Roland Käslin, head finance, and Denis O’Malley, head Guernsey.
Partners Group has made some changes in the organisational structure of the firm, which will take effect as of 1 January 2010.
Following the successful development of the private real estate business to become a global asset management practice, it has become an independent department reporting directly to the executive board.
The
Point Nine, a provider of middle and back office services, has appointed Jeff Kushner as a non-executive member of the board of directors.
Kushner (pictured) is currently chief executive of BlueMountain Europe.
His background includes heading up the managed CDO business and leading the trade execution function covering all traded products at BlueMountain Europe, as well as a variety of trading roles within the structured credit team at ING Financial and Merrill Lynch.

Alternative investment firm NIR Group has appointed Robert M. Cohen as managing director.
Based in the firm’s Roslyn, New York, headquarters, Cohen is responsible for overseeing operations and business development.

She will be working with members of the group to help them expand their practice and build their client base.

Sampson has worked in
Cube Capital, a London-based global alternative investment and advisory firm, has appointed Louise van der Vegt as director of marketing and business development.
Van der Vegt joins Cube from Sturgeon Investments, where she was head of investor relations.
Prior to Sturgeon, she was an emerging market debt and high yield specialist at ABN AMRO Asset Management in London. She started her career as an analyst for Roland Berger Consultants in London and later joined Capgemini.
At Cube, van der Vegt will be responsible for all aspects of the firm’s marketing and business development.

Interdealer broker Icap has expanded its base metals broking business by opening a New York sales desk and hiring Marc Carozza.
Carozza previously worked for Bear Stearns and Calyon Financial.
Icap began broking London Metal Exchange base metals in January 2009 with a Category Two membership of the LME.

Offshore law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune has appointed James Wauchope as an equity partner in the Cayman Islands.
Wauchope (pictured) specialises in all areas of offshore finance and corporate work, with a particular focus on investment funds.
He worked at the City office of Simmons & Simmons before moving to the Cayman Islands in 1993 and was a partner at Maples and Calder before joining Mourant.
