Hedge fund majors Millennium Management and DE Shaw are both actively hiring technologists in India with a focus on data scientists and data engineers as they ramp up operations in the country, according to a report by ET CIO.  New York-based Millennium, which has over $58 billion in AUM, reportedly has 30 roles open in Bengaluru for technologist, including data engineers, to work in the firm’s fixed income and commodities team. Fredrik Gentzel, the former chief executive officer of Capula Investment Management, a hedge fund specialising in bond and macro economic trading strategies, is joining $8 billion investment firm Orchard Global as its chief operating officer (COO) based in London. Ullman, who joins the firm from Degroof Petercam Asset Management (DPAM) where he served as as Senior International Sales Director for six years, will be working closely with CEO Peter Habermacher, and fellow sales director Liz Adnitt, who joined Aaro from Sanlam Investments in January of this year. Hedge funds continue to attract engineers and other technology talent from the investment banking sector, with managers drawing expertise from the likes of Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse, according to a report by efinancialcareers. Brevan Howard has hired London-based Neal MacGowan as an executive IT support specialist after 22 years at Credit Suisse. MacGowan spent much of those two decades working as a support specialist on the trading floor. Shashank Sharma, a quant developer, also joined Brevan after six and a half years at JPMorgan. Hong Kong-headquartered Tiger Cub hedge fund Karst Peak Capital’s Sydney-based healthcare partner Hashan De Silva is starting his own fund, according to a report by the Financial Review. De Silva’s firm will launch with seed capital from Karst Peak Capital founder Adam Leitzes, who formerly worked at Julian Robertson’s Tiger Management. The new VC-style healthcare fund – dubbed dubbed KP RX – will reportedly invest in Australian and New Zealand healthcare companies. Millennium, the long-running multi-manager hedge fund firm founded by Israel Englander, has hired Utkarsh Khandelwal as an emerging market equities analyst, according to a report by The Trade. Khandelwal joins Millennium from Morgan Stanley, where he spent the 13 years, most recently as vice president, Asia equity sales for the past four years. Before that, he held the position of India specialist for institutional equity sales. Earlier, Khandelwal held research associate positions in both the internet and media sector as well as in Morgan Stanley’s India equity strategy.
Drawbridge, a provider of cybersecurity software and solutions to private equity, hedge fund, and venture capital firms, has appointed Chris Aronis as chief revenue officer. Aronis will lead the Drawbridge sales, account management and business development teams. 
Ken Griffin’s Citadel has joined the growing list of hedge funds and another investment firms tapping Morgan Stanley for new recruits with the appointment of Li Sun as a quantitative researcher focused on global credit. Sun, a PhD physicist, spent almost nine years at Morgan Stanley, according to his LinkedIn profile. He first joined the business as an associate in the firm’s Beijing office in May 2014 before making a move to New York later that year and working his way up to vice president and finally executive director, apposition he held for over four years before agreeing to join
