Carey Olsen has added to its investment funds offering in Singapore with the addition of investment funds specialist Tom Katsaros. Katsaros, who specialises in the establishment, structuring and maintenance of private equity funds and hedge funds, joins Carey Olsen after 14 years at Maples where he was most recently head of the firm’s funds and investment management team in Singapore. In addition to acting for large financial institutions and investment funds sponsors, boutique and start-up investment managers, Katsaros also advises on all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and financing transactions.

RBC Global Asset Management and BlueBay Asset Management (BlueBay), have expanded their combined Business Development team with the appointment of Rami Salminen as Director, Business Development, reporting into Staffan Kampe, Head of Nordics. Salminen will be based in Amsterdam and will cover the Nordic region as part of the wider European team. The appointment of Salminen follows several other appointments in Europe in recent months, reinforcing the comany’s commitment to strengthening their presence on the continent. VIA AM has promoted Jordan Alloun to Head of Equity Research & Technology. Alloun spent over six years in the equity research team, improving, strengthening, automating and leveraging the 20-plus years of research in accounting normalisation.   Prior to joining VIA, Alloun held positions at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, in London and New York.
