ACA Compliance Group (ACA) is expanding its European presence with the opening of a new office in Birmingham.
The office will allow ACA to offer a full suite of services designed to strengthen and streamline financial services firms’ governance, risk and compliance arrangements.
Key to the services offered from the Birmingham office will be ACA’s Analysis and Review Centre (ARC). The ARC helps to reduce the workload of CCOs and in-house compliance teams by allow them to pass on executional regulatory responsibilities to ACA. This on-demand service aims to provide an efficient, scalable and cost-effective compliance across the UK.
iM Global Partner, an investment and development platform focused on acquiring strategic investments in traditional and alternative investment firms in the US, Europe and Asia, has created a new Client Servicing Department dedicated to international distribution.
Clément Labouret (pictured) has been appointed as Client Services Manager to lead the new department.
iM Global Partner has grown from from three people and USD1.5 billion of assets under management in December 2015 to 22 people and USD10.7 billion of assets under management today.
Based in Paris, Labouret will support the International Distribution team and coordinate with the Partners of iM Global
Ocorian, a provider of trust, administration and fiduciary services to corporate, institutional and private investors has appointed Pamela Valasuo as Head of Sales for Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
Valasuo brings over 20 years’ experience of professional and financial services experience to Ocorian and will lead the business development strategy for the region.
A native English and Finnish speaker, Valasuo has previously held various senior management roles with several established service providers in Luxembourg. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Buckingham and Stellenbosch University respectively and has also completed INSEAD’s International

Based in the US, Handzy will be responsible for a broad range of both strategic and tactical functions including commercial strategy, product & market research, marketing, and strategic partnerships.
Handzy has over 20 years’ experience in the investment industry with a focus on growing software platforms inspired by technical and financial innovations. Global finds network Calastone has appointed Dan Kramer as Vice Chairman, to be based in the firm’s New York office.
Kramer joins Calastone from BNY Mellon, where he held the position of EVP and Chief Client Experience Officer, managing all stages of customer experience across client service, insight and strategy. During this time, he was also a member of the CIBC Mellon Board. Prior to this, he spent eight years at JP Morgan Chase as Head of Fund Services.

Nuveen, an asset manager overseeing investments across real estate, private credit, farmland, private equity and forestry, is to open a new office in Copenhagen to facilitate future growth in Northern Europe.
The office opening comes as a direct consequence of increased business volumes in the region and will ensure Nuveen has proximity to both present and future clients in the region.

The Supervisory Board of European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC) has appointed Jens Rick as Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective 1 November with responsibility for the operation and development of ECC’s clearing systems and IT operations.
Rick also joins the Management Board of the clearing house.
The role of CIO is a new position at ECC before and reflects the growing importance of the IT landscape and its operation and development within EEX Group. Rick has been Chief Information Officer of European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) since 1 February 2019.

Patrice Rassou (pictured) has been appointed chief investment officer (CIO) of Ashburton Investments, the asset management business of FirstRand Limited.
This new role, which comes into effect from April 2020, has been created to coordinate the various investment management activities of the FirstRand group. The appointment follows a review of Ashburton Investments’ strategic positioning to ensure it is fully enabled to scale.
Sizwe Nxedlana, the recently appointed CEO of Ashburton Investments, says: “Patrice brings the necessary skills required to strengthen existing investment management processes and ultimately deliver the right client outcomes by leveraging the group’s capabilities.”

Alternative asset manager Trium Capita which offers investors a diverse range of hedge funds and liquid alternative UCITS funds, has appointed Patrick Mang to the newly created role of chief operating officer.
Mang joins from HSBC, where he was head of innovation for global markets. In this role, he oversaw fintech partnerships, sponsored internal projects applying AI, Big Data, Cloud and Distributed Ledger Technology to the trading floor, and led HSBC’s venture capital investment in the New York based blockchain company Axoni.
