FundRock Partners Ltd (FP), the ACD business of FundRock Group, has appointed Michael Vareika and Eric Personne as Independent Non-Executive Directors to its Board of Directors, subject to the FCA approval.

LFIS (La Française Investment Solutions), a Paris-based quantitative asset manager with USD14 billion AUM, has appointed Jean-Michel Lévy-Bruhl as a Senior Portfolio Manager in its Factor Investing team.
Lévy-Bruhl joins from Delebor AM, which he co-founded and where he worked across a range of systematic investment strategies. Prior to this he was Head of European Market Making at BAML, Head of Paris Portfolio Management at Nomura and before that, a senior trader in BNP Paribas’ Systematic Quantitative Strategies team. He started his career at JP Morgan and holds degrees from Ecole Polytechnique, ENSAE and Paris VI University.

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has appointed Ulrik Fugmann and Edward Lees as Senior Portfolio Managers, based in London. They joined on 17 June and report to Guy Davies, CIO of Equities.
They will manage a global long-short sustainability-themed strategy focusing on companies operating within energy, materials, agriculture and industrials markets. This will further develop BNPP AM’s thematic investing capability, as well as aligning with its Global Sustainability Strategy.
In 2012 Fugmann and Lees co-founded thematic boutique asset manager North Shore Partners, with offices in London and Shanghai, which was subsequently acquired by London based alternative asset manager Duet
BCS Global Markets (BCS GM) has expanded its sales team in New York with the appointments of Kyrill Firshein and Diego Vargas who will be responsible for growing BCS’s capabilities across fixed income and equities.
Firshein will be joining BCS’s Equity sales team in New York to enhance the BCS GM’s equity distribution in the US. With over 15 years of industry experience, Kyrill brings valuable experience in growing a country focused global investor base.

Blackstone has appointed Gabriel Sod Hoffs has joined Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM) as a Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets and Global Macro Strategy.
Sod Hoffs joins from Caxton Associates where he was a Portfolio Manager focusing on emerging markets. Prior to Caxton, he was a senior investment associate at Bridgewater Associates where he focused on emerging markets, and CIO of Austin Credit Macro, a global macro hedge fund seeded by TPG Capital. Sod Hoffs has also held investment positions at Dodge & Cox and Farallon Capital where he concentrated on currencies, interest rates, and sovereign credit. He
Dr Heath P Tarbert has officially begun his term today as the 14th Chairman of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), succeeding J Christopher Giancarlo.

Carmignac, a French independent asset manager, has added David Beacham and Edward Aram-Dixon to the UK business development team.
Beacham joins as Business Development Director, Head of Regional Sales, while Aram-Dixon joins as Business Development Manager. Both will report to David Robson, Head of UK Retail for Carmignac.
Beacham and Aram-Dixon will be responsible for developing Carmignac’s offering with UK and European investors, with a key focus on the newly launched range of UK-domiciled OEIC funds.
David joins from Goji Investments, where he was Head of Distribution. Prior to that he was a Business Development Director at Just Retirement. Edward
Global funds transaction network Calastone has appointed James Donaldson as Chief Financial Officer.
Donaldson brings significant experience to Calastone having previously served as Chief Financial Officer of the Soros-backed digital solutions provider Ciklum, leading all aspects of finance, corporate development, legal and compliance.
Prior to this he worked for the Travelocity Group in numerous roles, including Global CFO, but also as COO for Europe and Asia, and CFO for lastminute.com, managing all aspects of financial control, planning, and compliance. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995.

NeoXam has hired Philipp Sfeir to head up its DACH business, helping to support ongoing projects, servicing customers, as well as securing new clients and developing the business. Philipp Sfeir was Head of Data Management for Zürcher Kantonalbank, one of the top four banks in Switzerland, and has been presiding over the Swiss Information Providers User Group (SIPUG) for the last three years.
