Kempen Capital Management (Kempen) has appointed two senior portfolio managers to its business investment teams.
Jags Walia has been appointed as senior portfolio manager for infrastructure, while Ingmar Schaefer has been appointed as senior portfolio manager for European small caps.
Previously, Walia worked as a senior portfolio manager for APG Asset Management, where he focussed predominantly on energy sector shares. Prior to this position, he worked for Delta Lloyd Asset Management and Morgan Stanley. He will bring nearly 25 years of experience in the financial industry to his new post.

Philip Moustakis, most recently a senior counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission, has joined law firm Seward & Kissel.
Moustakis spent more than a decade in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement in New York, where he served a lengthy tenure in the Asset Management Unit and was a member of the Cyber Unit since its formation in 2017. He will work closely with several of Seward & Kissel’s practice areas in both New York and Washington DC, including the Government Enforcement and Internal Investigations Group, the Investment Management Group, and the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Group.
As a member of the
Mediolanum Asset Management (MAML), the Irish asset management company of the Mediolanum Banking Group, has appointed Brian O’Reilly as its new Head of Market Strategy. He will report to Christophe Jaubert (pictured), Head of Investment Performance.
This hire follows numerous additions made by MAML in the past few months, including David Holohan, Head of Equity Strategy and Astrid Schilo as Multi-Asset Strategist.
O’Reilly will manage the team responsible for asset allocation across all classes as well as formulating the MAML investment house view. He will sit on the firm’s Investment Committee.

Global investor services provider SGG Group has appointed Serge Krancenblum to the new position of Group Executive Chairman and chair of the Group’s Supervisory Board and Mark Pesco as its new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Both appointments are subject to regulatory approval.
Under Krancenblum’s leadership SGG Group has become the fourth largest independent investor services firm in the world, with the required scale and industry expertise across all segments.
As Group Executive Chairman, Krancenblum will chair the Supervisory Board of the Group and act as an adviser and a trusted mentor to Pesco, sharing experience, know-how and network.
Cayman-based alternative fund governance specialists, Danesmead Partners, has appointed former FRM Head of Operational Due Diligence Haliday Casey to join the London office as a principal of the firm.
Haliday (pictured), will provide independent directorship services as well as bespoke consulting services to asset management businesses, family offices, institutional investors, fund administrators, and other connected service providers.

AKJ Crypto plc, a crypto platform and security token issuer for hedge fund managers and institutional investors, has promoted Neal Mitra to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Mitra will replace interim CEO and AKJ Group founder Anders Kvamme Jensen, who will remain the company’s Chairman.

GPP, a prime broking, investor services and wealth solutions firm, has hired James Parker for the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
Parker will take on the newly-created role after over five years at Société Générale as European Head of Risk Management. His appointment is part of GPP’s strategic expansion of its senior leadership team and follows the recent hire of Todd Johnson as Chief Operating Officer (COO). 


Parker brings a wealth of experience to GPP from roles including Head of Clearing at JP Morgan and Executive Director of Valuations and Model Control Oversight at Lehman Brothers.

LiquidityBook, a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based provider of buy- and sell-side trading solutions, has appointed Alexander Ponyrko as Principal Software Engineer.
With over a decade of experience as a technologist, Ponyrko, who reports directly to CTO Shawn Samuel, will be responsible for a range of development initiatives around the firm’s POEMS (portfolio, order and execution management system) platform.
