Global currency overlay and currency alpha manager Millennium Global has appointed Hai Xin as managing director responsible for business development in Asia (ex-Japan) and Australasia. Previously Xin held a similar position at Overlay Asset Management for seven years (2005-2012) where he was a member of the firm’s executive and research committees.    Before that, he worked for UBS Investment Bank in a variety of positions within its foreign exchange and equity capital markets divisions.   Since 2010, Xin has been an adjunct associate professor lecturing on statistics for risk management and investment banking at Hong Kong University of Science and
Algomi, a provider of information-matching solutions for the optimisation of fixed income liquidity, has named Hugh Willis as a strategic advisor. Willis (pictured), who is also an investor in the firm, is the co-founder of BlueBay Asset Management, a specialist fixed income credit manager with USD62.5 billion of assets under management.   He served as BlueBay’s chief executive from inception in 2001 until the end of 2013, a period which included the sale of the firm to the Royal Bank of Canada for USD1.6 billion in December 2010.  Belchambers (pictured) is the former chief executive of the Futures and Options Association (now FIA Europe), which he set-up in 1993 with the industry and which now represents 170 members. He is currently deputy chairman (and co-founder) of the Advisory Group to the European Parliamentary Financial Services Forum, and founder and industry deputy chairman of the Associate Parliamentary Group on Wholesale
Liquidnet, the global institutional trading network, has appointed Christopher Wall as head of market surveillance in Europe and David Stockwell as market surveillance specialist.  Wall’s primary responsibilities are to lead and manage the surveillance team’s daily operations, including operating a surveillance system, Liquidity Watch.   He is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory initiatives such as the FCA Code of Market Conduct and ESMA guidelines.   Based in London, Wall reports directly to Anna-Maria De La Roche, Liquidnet’s European head of compliance and regulation.   As a surveillance specialist, Stockwell's role at Liquidnet will be to proactively monitor all members
Neonet Securities, the independent agency broker, has appointed Alasdair Haynes as its new non-executive chairman. Haynes (pictured), who has been a member of the Neonet board since February 2013, replaces Peter Melbi, who is moving on to another board directorship.   Haynes is the founder and chief executive of pan-European cash equities trading platform Aquis Exchange and previously headed up Chi-X Europe.   Before that, he led the European and Asian operations of international electronic broker ITG and held senior positions at investment banks, including HSBC and UBS. Eze Castle Integration has promoted Dean Hill to the position of executive director with responsibility for overseeing the company’s UK operations and international sales efforts. Hill, who was formerly director of sales, EMEA, has nearly two decades of sales and technology experience.   In his new role, he will continue business development oversight for the company’s UK and Asia offices while assuming responsibility for Eze Castle’s UK operations.   Hill’s promotion comes at a time of expansion for Eze Castle in the UK with company recently moving to new offices in Mayfair to accommodate both client and employee growth.
