BGC Partners, a brokerage company servicing the wholesale financial and real estate markets, has appointed Jean-Jack Badet as general manager of its business in Switzerland.
Based in Nyon, Badet will be responsible for all of BGC’s financial products business in Switzerland and helping drive business growth in Switzerland.
Badet has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He joins BGC from Tradition, where he has worked since 1986 in various roles, including most recently as managing director of the firm’s Switzerland business, coordinating the development of money market products domestically and across Continental Europe. Liquidnet, the institutional trading network, has made two senior appointments to its London based EMEA trading team to further strengthen and develop relationships with its community of asset management firms.
These hires come on the heels of Liquidnet’s strong quarterly growth in Europe, with total principal traded up 64.7 per cent from Q4 2012.
Julien Fougere has been appointed head of trading coverage EMEA with responsibility for developing Liquidnet’s buy-side institutional member relationships. He will report directly to Tony Booth, head of sales.

Fund administration company Apex Fund Services has appointed David Brown as the new managing director of the firm’s Bermuda office.
Brown has worked in the fund administration industry in Bermuda for the last 10 years.
The recent change in government together with the launch of Apex’s Emerging Manager Incubation Services, which includes free office space for emerging managers, have led to Bermuda returning to being a favourable jurisdiction for fund managers to be based.

Israel A Englander and Co’s Managed Accounts & Prime Services (MA&PS) division has expanded its footprint to Palm Beach County, Florida.
Brett Langbert, managing director, head of sales, is in charge of MA&PS’ newly opened Palm Beach office, where he will be dividing his time between this office and MA&PS’ New York office. MA&PS also has an office in Santa Monica, California.
MA&PS’ clients include emerging hedge funds, fund of funds, family offices, pension funds, endowments, and managed account platform providers.

FX trading solutions provider Integral Development Corp has appointed David Faulkner as global segment head, banks, while Thomas F Koslowske has joined the firm as director, hedge fund sales.
Faulkner will be focused on further innovating Integral’s products and services for that particular segment of the market and orchestrate the work of a variety of internal stakeholders to deliver additional synergies to customers. Faulkner joins from EBS where he spent the last nine years in various executive roles. He will be based in Integral’s London office.

The board of the Channel Islands Stock Exchange (CISX) has appointed Stephen Lansdown as non-executive director.
Lansdown (pictured) was co-founder and former chairman of Hargreaves Lansdown, from which he stepped down in November 2012. He is also a majority shareholder of Bristol City Football Club and Bristol Rugby Club.
A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, Lansdown was presented with Honorary Degrees from Bristol University (Doctor of Laws) and the University of the West of England (Doctor of Business Administration) in 2012.

Brandon Bradkin has joined CVC Credit Partners as a partner.
Bradkin spent six years at Park Square Capital where he was a partner and member of investment committee.
Before joining Park Square, he was a managing director at Dresdner Anschutz Mezzanine Fund.
Previously, Bradkin managed, turned around and sold two distressed portfolio companies. He has also been a vice president in investment banking at Chase in London where he focused on leveraged telecom financings. Bradkin began his career as a lawyer at O’Melveny & Myers in Los Angeles after having clerked for Judge John Minor Wisdom.
EMEA Capital, the independent asset management firm, has appointed Can Uran as managing partner and chief investment officer.
Uran will work alongside EMEA Capital’s managing partner and chief executive officer Osman Semerci in the firm’s London office.
Uran joins EMEA Capital from UBS where he was global co-head of emerging markets trading for three years, responsible for all credit, rates and foreign exchange products in Latin America, Central/Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
