Hedge Funds Care, an international non-profit organisation that raises funds and awareness for programmes to prevent and treat child abuse, has appointed Dean C Backer as president.
Backer takes over from John M Budzyna, who has just completed the second of his two-year terms in the post.

Old Mutual Global Investors, the merged business of Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) (OMAM) and Skandia Investment Group (SIG), has appointed Donald Pepper as managing director of alternatives.

Liquidnet, the institutional trading network, has appointed Mark Pumfrey as head of EMEA and a member of the global leadership team, effective immediately.
In this role, Pumfrey is responsible for overseeing and growing Liquidnet’s European business with an immediate focus on identifying new sources of actionable block liquidity, providing asset managers with access to Liquidnet’s full product suite and adding new members to the network.
Based in London, he will report directly to John Kelly, global chief operating officer at Liquidnet.

TIG Advisors, an investment platform that oversees more than USD1.8bn across multiple strategies, has appointed Kenneth Goodreau, former chief investment officer of the USD8bn Rhode Island State Pension, as chief investment officer, effective 1 January 2013.

Steben & Company, a provider of managed futures funds, has named Richard Kendrick as chief marketing officer.

Peter Clarke, chief executive of Man Group, has advised the company of his intention to retire as chief executive and to step down from the board on 28 February 2013.
