Jersey Finance has appointed Richard Corrigan as global head of business development.
In this new role, he will assume responsibility for the international offices of Jersey Finance in Abu Dhabi, India and Hong Kong whilst retaining a personal focus on extending the profile of Jersey’s finance industry in the UK, Europe and Russia.
Corrigan (pictured) joins Jersey Finance from the banking sector where he has held senior roles with Barclays Wealth and Royal Bank of Scotland International in a number of financial centres, most recently as director for Barclays Wealth in Jersey.

The board of The London Metal Exchange has approved the creation of the LME user committee.
It will represent the interests and views of the stakeholders of the Exchange.
The new LME user committee will report directly to the LME board.

GLG, the discretionary investment manager of Man Group, has made a number of senior hires to its macro and fixed income team.

Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (PAAMCO), the USD8.5bn fund of hedge funds investment firm, has appointed Jim Meehan, Scott Warner and David Weinberger as partners.

Todd Groome, former chairman of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), has joined the Highwater Group.
Groome (pictured) has 28 years of experience in international financial markets, working in both public and private sectors and across geographies.
Prior to his four years (2009 – 2012) as AIMA chairman, where he represented the hedge fund industry globally, Groome was an adviser on financial markets to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for over five years, was an investment banker for more than 13 years, and practiced law in Washington DC for five years.

Thomas Eggar has expanded its private client team with the appointment of tax adviser Andrew Watters.
Watters (pictured), who joined as a director based in its London office, will focus on growing the firm’s specialist contentious tax services including pre-emptive planning, tax investigations and enquiries and tax litigation.
Previously a director at Berwin Leighton Paisner, Watters also worked as a senior investigator in the special compliance office of the Inland Revenue with a focus on high-profile cases of suspected tax avoidance and evasion. Appleby has made a number of changes to its leadership team, including the appointment of Frances Woo as group chairman.
Woo (pictured) will succeed Peter Bubenzer who will be retiring from the Appleby Group on 31 March 2013, following a career at Appleby that spans over 32 years.

Jason Beaird has joined Steel Vine Investment Fund, a hedge fund specialising in commodity and stock options based in Nashville, Tennessee.
Beaird will serve as partner and director of marketing, primarily focusing upon marketing to accredited high net worth and institutional investors.
Beaird’s past experience includes director of client service for Jetstream Capital from 2005 to 2011 and positions at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch in private wealth management from 1999 to 2004. Immediately prior to joining Steel Vine Investment Fund, Beaird worked as a hedge and private equity fund placement agent with Constellation Associates through BTIG.
