The Rockefeller University has appointed Amy Falls as chief investment officer and vice president for investments effective April 4, 2011. Falls will oversee the University’s Office of Investments and manage the institution’s endowment, which has an estimated value of USD1.8 billion.
“Amy’s experience managing investments in the private sector coupled with her successful management of a nonprofit endowment will be crucial to continuing the scientific development of this institution,” says Paul Nurse, president of The Rockefeller University.
Falls is currently the chief investment officer for Phillips Academy (better known as Andover), which has endowment assets of nearly USD800 million.
Perella Weinberg Partners today announced that William Parkerson has joined the Firm as a Managing Director in its Corporate Advisory Group. Based in New York, Parkerson, who has nearly 20 years of investment banking experience, will focus on providing strategic and financial advice to clients in the global chemicals sector.
Parkerson was previously Managing Director and Head of Chemicals Investment Banking at Jefferies & Company. Phoenix Fund Services have appointed Sophie Panchal as Head of Hedge Fund Sales. In this new role she will be working closely with Anthony Wolfe, Phoenix’s Business Development Director.
Sophie has 14 years experience of working in financial services, covering roles in financial management, investment research and more recently selecting hedge funds and creating portfolios for a fund of funds and for private clients. Her career started at Goldman Sachs in London, embraced roles at Aon Consulting and Nedgroup Investments and most recently UBS Wealth Management.

Maurier, previously Deputy Head of SGSS Russia at Rosbank, becomes a member of SGSS Executive Committee and will report to Alain Closier, Global Head of SGSS. RBC Dexia Investor Services has appointed Sébastien Danloy as Managing Director for Luxembourg. This appointment will be effective on 2 May, 2011 and is subject to regulatory approval.

Cazenove Capital has confirmed the appointment of Rupert Tyer as Non-Executive Director to the Board of Cazenove Capital Holdings.
Tyer has recently retired from Cantillon Capital Management, where he was a founding partner of the London and New York based global equity boutique. A solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, Bathgate graduated from Christ Church, Oxford, with a first class degree in Law and German Law in 2002, and completed the LPC at Nottingham Law School in 2003. He was admitted as an Attorney of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands in 2010.
