Allonhill, a Denver-based national mortgage due diligence and credit risk management firm, has hired Mike Hartman to serve as director of sales.
Hartman, who most recently served as a vice president for JP Morgan Chase, will oversee the sales department, in addition to developing and building client relationships for the company’s due diligence and credit risk management services.
“Mike will play an instrumental role in the continued growth and success of Allonhill,” says Sue Allon (pictured), chief executive and founder of Allonhill. “Hiring the industry’s top talent is critical to our mission to re-invent the mortgage due diligence.”
Cardano has appointed Roger Lord and Alberto Marone to its London-based team to strengthen the firm’s risk management capabilities.
Lord will be responsible for Cardano’s quantitative solutions and systems. He holds a PhD in Quantitative Finance and has done research on the pricing of exotic derivatives.
Previously Lord worked for Rabobank International in various roles, most recently supporting their exotic interest rate derivatives trading desk in London. Prior to starting his PhD, he worked in Cardano’s Rotterdam office.
Marone joins from fund of hedge fund firm, Globefin European Advisors. At Globefin he was a member of the investment committee and
StatPro, a provider of portfolio analytics and data solutions for the global asset management industry, has appointed Mark Grobien as business development manager for Germany.
Grobien (pictured) is a dedicated business development person serving the German-speaking markets in Europe.
In this role he will based in Paris, but work closely with StatPro’s office in Frankfurt.
StatPro is expanding rapidly in Europe and this new hire complements the sales team in the French and Italian markets. The appointment follows the selection of Tim Dennis as European sales director in June.
Grobien has spent 15 years in asset management and capital markets,
Gartmore has appointed Jan de Bruijn as head of Asian equities.
De Bruijn will join Gartmore’s global emerging markets team and report to Chris Palmer, head of global emerging markets.
He is expected to join in early 2010.
De Bruijn has 17 years’ investment industry experience and has spent the last three years at Threadneedle Asset Management managing Asian equity long-only, institutional and hedge fund strategies. Prior to this he was a senior portfolio manager at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.
At Gartmore de Bruijn will assume management of the Gartmore Pacific Opportunities Fund and Gartmore Sicav Asia Pacific Fund. He
Frontier market investment banking boutique Exotix has expanded its fixed income team with two senior appointments.
Alexey Lytvynov and Toufic Yafaoui have joined Exotix to cover Russia and CIS, and Turkey, North Africa and the Middle East respectively.
The appointments will enable Exotix to offer a new range of local products to existing clients, in addition to capitalising on local appetite for its current range of products.
Lytvynov – whose remit is to develop the firm’s Russian credit business – joins Exotix from Commerzbank, where he worked in fixed income sales covering Russia and CIS. Prior to joining
Cheyne Capital has appointed Max Nardulli as head of international sales and distribution.
In this newly created position, Nardulli will be responsible for the marketing of Cheyne’s expanding range of products globally, excluding the UK.
Nardulli joins Cheyne from Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he was a managing director, head of the alternative capital markets team responsible for EMEA and Asia ex-Japan.
Prior to this, he was responsible for GSAM business development in southern Europe, Israel and Latin American. He joined Goldman in 2001.

Gartmore has appointed Brian Mitchell as head of dealing.
He will report to Dominic Rossi, Gartmore’s chief investment officer, and it is anticipated he will join in mid-January 2010.
Mitchell has over 16 years’ investment industry experience, most recently at Barings Asset Management, where he was head of dealing for the last 11 years.
At Gartmore Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing all dealing activities including equities, derivatives, fixed income and FX in London, Tokyo and Boston.

Altis Partners has appointed John King as managing director of its London branch.
King joins Altis from BNP Paribas Fortis where he was an executive director, deputy head of Fortis commodity derivatives.
Founded in 2000, Altis specialises in managed futures and now manages USD1.3bn for its clients.
Altis uses a proprietary system to trade the global futures markets, delivering annualised returns of 23 per cent since inception.

Portfolio Analyst Paul Choi has joined Hong Kong-based asset management firm Enhanced Investment Products to support its recently launched Asian High Yield Convertible Bond fund.
Choi will also provide credit analysis and fundamental research opportunities for EIP’s stable of funds.
Launched with an initial investment of USD17m at the beginning of May, the convertible bond fund and was up 10.90 per cent at end of September 2009.
With over five years of experience as an investment analyst, Choi has worked in Australia, Hong Kong and Korea. He most recently helped provide investment and credit research ideas to Cheyne Capital Management’s
Alaris Trading Partners has hired Adam Capon, formerly of Goldman Sachs, as vice president of sales and trading.
Capon will concentrate on prime brokerage sales and further development of the institutional agency execution services of Alaris.
Most recently he was a specialist on the NYSE with Spear, Leeds & Kellogg Specialists, a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, focusing on US equity and high profile ADRs.
