Tradar, a provider of portfolio management and accounting solutions to the alternative investment management industry, has appointed Arti Hatzirodos as managing director of its Asian business. She will be based at Tradar’s Hong Kong offices. Before joining Tradar, Hatzirodos was employed as the chief financial officer of an event-driven hedge fund based in London, Singapore and Sydney. She has extensive experience of hedge funds’ operational requirements, having managed a London-based start-up fund and acted as its chief operating officer. Duet Group, the global financial group specialising in alternative asset management, has appointed Eric De Candia as chief executive of Duet Alternative Investments, its fund of hedge fund platform. De Candia will be responsible for the running and development of the platform. Duet has also promoted Karim Khimji to be chief investment officer for Europe and Douglas Morse to be chief investment officer for the US for Duet’s fund of hedge funds business. CounselWorks, an advisory firm to alternative investment firms, banks and broker/dealers, has hired Brad Caswell, former general counsel and chief compliance officer of DKR Oasis, as a managing director. Caswell will work closely with clients on strategic business, legal, regulatory and compliance matters, particularly hedge funds and investment firms with international businesses. Prior to DKR Oasis, Caswell served as associate general counsel and a board member of the DKR group of funds. Aros Capital Partners, the recently launched Anglo-Danish hedge fund manager, has appointed Tom Muchiri Kabuga as an analyst in its investment team. His remit will be to focus specifically on the development of the Aros Altru Fund, a new altruistic fund to be launched in Q1 2010.   Kabuga, originally from Kenya, founded a Kenya-based consulting and trade firm, which fosters Afro-Chinese partnerships, and in 2002 co-founded Creative Resources Global in China, which develops partners and suppliers through engineering consulting, technology transfer and supply-chain management. Nakani (pictured) has more than 16 years’ experience in investing and investment banking and brings in-depth sector experience in financial services, telecom, media, retail, logistics, healthcare, education and real estate.
