Eurex and the Korea Exchange have received commitment and support from major market participants for the launch of their joint Eurex/KRX Link on 30 August.
This link comprises a cooperation to trade and clear options on Korea’s blue-chip index, Kopsi 200, on Eurex during European and North American trading hours.
Currently, Eurex and KRX are jointly preparing the launch of daily futures on Kopsi 200 options at Eurex and have been in a member consultation process since the beginning of 2010.

Against a backdrop of the ASX200’s June fall of 2.89 per cent, and equity based funds in general which fell 0.57 per cent, market neutral managers were up 1.74 per cent in June, followed by event driven at 0.52 per cent.
With 44 per cent of single funds results in so far, it has been a tough month with 41 per cent reporting positive returns, although 85 per cent outperformed the ASX.
Australian Fund Monitors’ data also shows that non equity based funds fell by 1.21 per cent in June and are down 0.47 per cent year-to-date.
AFM’s model portfolio
SEI, a provider of outsourced asset management, investment processing and investment operations solutions, has selected financial software specialist Comada to enhance the risk management services that will be delivered to the company’s investment manager clients via SEI’s Total Liquidity Management tool.
The partnership, announced this week by Comada co-founders Rupert Vaughan Williams and Dave Shastri, will see the implementation of Comada’s M.A.T.ware risk management capabilities into SEI’s operations platform to further enhance SEI’s outsourcing services for hedge funds and funds of hedge funds.

Otkritie, a brokerage that provides direct market access to Russian equity markets, has launched a trading platform that aims to provide greater transparency and cost efficiencies for international investors trading directly into Russia.
The new platform, which is backed by an international custodian, allows the straight through processing of electronic orders onto MICEX and settle into a third party custody account.
The platform eliminates the requirement for investors to pre-deposit their assets with the executing broker or pay for financing while enabling them to use one of the largest custodian banks in Russian equities markets.

The joint HedgeServ-SuperDerivatives solution
Prime Fund Solutions, the former Fortis division in the process of being acquired by Credit Suisse, has launched a front, middle and back office service for fund of hedge funds managers.
The new service combines Prime Fund Solutions’ operational capabilities with technology developed in conjunction with Comada.
The platform, called PFS Horizon, will allow fund of funds to manage the entire investment process through one interface.
The service facilitates online trade execution with post trade monitoring and reporting; position analysis with drill down to investment activity details and cash movements; cash forecasting/projection with future liquidity profile; and investment information including
Singapore Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange are extending their mutual offset arrangement to include the S&P CNX Nifty Index futures contract.
The addition, effective 19 July, allows round-the-clock trading of the contract as investors can offset Nifty futures positions in one exchange to the other.
The Nifty futures contract will be the fifth covered by the arrangement between SGX and CME, which has been in place since 1984. Other contracts covered by the arrangement are the Eurodollar, Euroyen, Yen Nikkei 225 and USD Nikkei 225 futures contracts.
