Simon Hurst, a commodities managing director at JPMorgan, has become the latest of the bank’s quant research execs to make the switch to a hedge fund firm, joining Ken Griffin’s Citadel as head of engineering at Citadel Energy Marketing (CEM), according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Hong Kong-based offshore funds lawyer Eason Huang has rejoined Appleby as a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong and a partner in the firm’s Shanghai office after all most three years as a counsel at Carey Olsen. Huang has almost 10 years of offshore experience specialising in the structuring, formation, organisation and operation of all types of open- and closed-ended funds, and their related investment management entities. He counsels funds in all stages of their operations, and regularly advises them on fund formation and governance matters. Hazeltree, a provider of treasury and liquidity management solutions for the alternative asset management industry, has appointed Richard Winter as the company’s chief technology officer. Winter has over 20 years of expertise in fintech and delivering software solutions for financial institutions. 
Multi-strategy giant Millennium has added Alex Jenkins, the head of trading at boutique hedge fund Polar Capital, to its team, according to a report by The Trade. Jenkins’ new role and title with her new employer have not yet been confirmed.  Jenkins served as Polar Capital’s head of trading for over three-and-a-half years having first joined the firm in December 2019. Prior to that, she was head of European trading at Highbridge Capital, according to her LinkedIn profile, and also spent several years in equity sales at both Cantor Fitzgerald and Virtu Financial.  
Ed Garden, one of three founding partners and chief investment officer at Nelson Peltz’s activist hedge fund Trian Fund Management, is retiring from the firm after 18 years to focus on personal investments, prompting a reshuffle of the firm’s management team, according to a report by Reuters.
BlueCrest Capital Management has added a new trader to its team with the appointment of Samuel Horwood from Goldman Sachs in London, where he spent eight years working on the bank’s emerging markets sales and trading desk, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
High Flyers Investment Management, which recently added Yang Yang Yunhao to its ranks after the former head of high frequency trading strategy at rival firm Shanghai Ruitian Investment won a court battle with his former employer, is looking to hire more quants and engineers, according to a report by eFinancial Careers. Of the 16 open positions currently posted on the firm’s careers site, nine are classified as urgent. TS Imagine, a global, cross-asset provider of trading, portfolio, and risk management solutions for financial institutions, has made two key additions to its Asia Pacific team in Hong Kong – Stephanie Cheung and An Hoong.  Both bring highly relevant experience from previous roles at Enfusion and will be key to TS Imagine’s growth and business development plans in the APAC market. Cheung joins as a sales director having previously served as a strategic account manager at Enfusion covering hedge funds, family offices and asset management firms in APAC. Broadridge, a provider of trading solutions for banks, broker-dealers and other institutional investment clients, has added a highly experienced industry professional to its sales team in Northern Europe, who will be focused on identifying new client opportunities in the region.
Christine O’Brien, the head of investment stewardship at activist investment firm Elliott Management, has resigned after almost 12 years with the firm, according to a report by Reuters, citing two unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
