Hamilton Lane, a private markets asset management firm, has appointed Atul Varma as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer effective 6 January.  Varma will succeed Randy M Stilman, who will be retiring from the role after 22 years. Stilman will remain at Hamilton Lane into 2020 to help ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities.   Varma brings two decades of leadership experience in financial services to Hamilton Lane. Kempen Capital Management has added to its UK business development team with the appointment of Julie Alexander as a business development director. Alexander brings nearly 18 years of experience to the role. In her previous position, she worked for 12 years as a senior investment consultant for Willis Towers Watson, where she focused predominantly on advising DC and DB schemes. Prior to this, she worked for Coal Pension Trustees Services and Barclays Capital. DASH Financial Technologies, a capital markets technology and execution specialist, has appointed Steven Bonanno as Chief Information Officer. Reporting directly to CEO Peter Maragos, Bonanno will be responsible for DASH’s IT infrastructure and technology platform operations. Bonanno brings over 25 years’ experience working in the equities trading technology industry. He joins DASH from Bloomberg, where he served as Global Head of Risk Operations at the firm’s Tradebook agency brokerage business. Stableton, a European platform for alternative investments, has hired Ethan B Schaerer to lead the firm’s strategic business development, sales and marketing initiatives into the next growth stage. On 1 January 2020, Schaerer will assume the position of Managing Partner alongside Stableton’s co-founders Andreas Bezner (CEO) and Konstantin Heiermann (CFO). The 16-year financial industry veteran joins Stableton from Greentech Capital Advisors. At Greentech Capital (merger with Nomura announced), Schaerer worked closely with its founder, a former Joint Global Head of Investment Banking at UBS, to create the largest global advisory firm that focuses exclusively on sustainable infrastructure, technology, and impact investments.
Assured Guaranty Corp (AGC), a subsidiary of Assured Guaranty, has appointed Steven Kahn as Senior Managing Director, Structured Finance.
