Jim Rogers, the professional investor, has been appointed to the board of the farmland investment firm Genagro Ltd as a Non-Executive Director. The appointment is part of a reorganisation of the board following the sale of a majority controlling interest in Genagro’s first farmland investment, Agrifirma Brasil, to a Brazilian private equity group. AXA Investment Managers has appointed Francisco Arcilla as Global Head of AXA Funds of Hedge Funds (AXA FoHF) effective 3 October, 2011. Alternative asset manager Northgate Capital has hired Mo Virani as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Virani joins from venture capital firm Mohr Davidow. The UBS Board of Directors has accepted the decision of Group CEO Oswald Grübel to resign from the bank. The Board of Directors asked Sergio P Ermotti to take up the position of Group CEO on an interim basis. The appointment will take effect immediately.
