NYSE Amex options, one of NYSE Euronext’s two US options exchanges, has appointed Steve Crutchfield as chief executive officer.  In this newly-created role, Crutchfield will be responsible for the day-to-day management of NYSE Amex options, and upon receiving SEC approval for its previously-announced semi-mutualization, he will also be a primary liaison to the exchange’s newly-formed board of directors.   Crutchfield will report to Ed Boyle, executive vice president, head of US options. “On behalf of my colleagues, I welcome Steve to NYSE Euronext as we begin this exciting next step in the development of NYSE Amex options with new, top-tier partners
Alternative investment manager Arrow Capital Management has appointed John DeRaimo to the newly-created role of chief operating officer. DeRaimo will assume responsibility for the firm’s operations, including its growth initiatives. He will report to co-managing members Alex von Furstenberg and Mal Serure. DeRaimo was previously a senior analyst at Arrow. “John’s appointment reflects Arrow’s commitment to building upon the strong operational infrastructure established by our chief financial officer Amy Wolf. The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation has hired Andrew Douglas to lead its public affairs efforts in Europe.  Douglas will play a key role in representing DTCC’s public policy positions to officials of the European Union and its member states. He will also represent DTCC in dealings with other European organisations, such as regulators, central banks and industry associations. Douglas will be responsible for communicating DTCC’s European policy agenda and for building upon existing relationships with key individuals and groups in the public policy-making process.  In addition, he will represent DTCC at relevant forums, advise senior management on pending legislation
Unigestion, a European privately owned asset manager, has appointed Philippe Gougenheim as managing director, head of hedge funds. Gougenheim joins Unigestion from Man Investments where he was a senior portfolio manager, having held the positions of chairman of the firm’s investment committee and head of strategic research and management. He was managing director of Millennium Capital Management from 2005 to 2008 and has previously headed proprietary trading and interest rate derivatives teams at Société Générale and JP Morgan respectively. Paladyne Systems, a provider of technology and services to the hedge fund Industry, has appointed Askin Leung as director of client services for the Asia Pacific region. Paladyne has also increased its office space in Hong Kong to support its growing staff and Asia Pacific client base. Leung brings knowledge of the hedge fund industry in Asia and will be responsible for all client service activities including implementation, training, and regional help desk support. Prior to joining Paladyne, Leung was head of IT for a multi-billion dollar, multi-strategy hedge fund based in Hong Kong, and was the former Asia Pacific
Hoare Capital Markets, an agency broker focusing on the provision of OTC securities and derivatives, has made Sergio Marques and Andrew Sheppard partners and promoted Tim Cartmell to chief operating officer.  Marques (pictured) has gained experience in marketing and distributing cash and synthetic structured credit products during his time at Hoare Capital and Bank of America. Before joining Bank of America, Marques was responsible for cash CLO structuring at Deutsche Bank. He will continue to drive ABS and structured product sales at Hoare Capital. Knight Capital Group has appointed Didier Bankole as vice president of sales for the electronic trading group in Europe. Bankole will lead the sales effort across continental Europe for Knight Link, which provides institutional and retail broker-dealers with access to Knight’s liquidity in more than 700 European equities. Bankole joined Knight from NYSE Euronext where he was in charge of global account management as well as additional responsibilities for NYSE Arca Europe as market structure manager. Deutsche Bank has added Doug Kline to its global prime finance business within the global markets division as a managing director and head of hedge fund consulting. Kline is based in New York and reports to Pam Kiernan, managing director and global head of business development, and Scott Carter, managing director and head of global prime finance sales and capital introduction in North America.
