Microtune has reached an agreement with Ramius and its affiliates relating to the election of directors at Microtune’s 2010 annual meeting of stockholders, which will take place no later than 20 May 2010. Under the settlement agreement, Microtune and Ramius have agreed upon a slate of nominees, including Drew Peck, a semiconductor analyst and consultant; Robert Rast, a principal at Tsar Digital; and Raghu Rau, formerly a senior vice president at Motorola, to stand for election as new independent directors on the Microtune board. Law firm Sidley Austin has added Antony Bryceson to its London office as counsel in the investment funds, advisers and derivatives practice.  Bryceson will focus his practice on advising clients on prime brokerage, custody, securities lending, repurchase and OTC derivatives trading agreements and structured transactions involving derivatives. Otkritie, the Russian brokerage, has signed up MDM Bank’s FX and money markets team in Moscow.  The six-strong team is responsible for global currency markets foreign exchange operations, lending and borrowing activities on the interbank market domestically and worldwide, including repurchase agreements. C12 Capital Management, an independent firm with nearly USD13bn invested in fixed income and credit strategies, has appointed Richard Geller and Kara Margolis to focus on global investor relations. Geller joins C12 as head of investor relations and has more than 16 years of financial industry experience. Prior to joining C12 he was a partner and global head of marketing and investor relations at Sandell Asset Management where he oversaw the firm’s asset raising efforts from 2003 to 2010. The Insparo Africa & Middle East Fund has recently been adapted to offer shorter redemption terms to increase investor interest, and Karadia’s responsibilities will involve adjusting operations to accommodate the anticipated growth.
