Third Eye Capital, an investor in Canadian private credit, has appointed Christopher Vokes as vice president, investor relations.
Vokes is a seasoned marketing professional with experience in both the institutional and retail investment markets.
In the newly-created role, Vokes will oversee all of the investor relations and marketing activities of the firm across both retail and insitutional platforms.
He will be responsible for implementing TEC’s new domestic fund partnership and growing the offshore fund’s assets.
Prior to joining TEC, Vokes held senior marketing roles at various hedge funds and investment firms, and established and helped grow the Western Canada
Hedge fund consulting and third party marketing firm Agecroft Partners has hired Tim Savage as its sixth managing director.
Savage’s responsibilities will include assisting with due diligence on potential hedge funds the firm may represent, and introducing the firm’s hedge fund clients to large institutional investors located within the US, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to Agecroft, Savage founded third party marketing firm Oculus Capital.
Before this he was a vice president of equity sales at Credit Suisse First Boston. He started his investment career in the OTC equity trading department of Alex Brown.

Scott J. Nance, an institutional investment executive with more than 20 years’ industry experience, has joined Compass Securities as an independent affiliate through his practice, West-NW Capital.
Prior to joining Compass as a registered representative, Nance was a managing director at Equinox Fund Management, sponsor of The Frontier Fund.
Before joining Equinox in 2005, Nance was a principal and institutional salesperson at Robeco Investment Management, whose US-based asset management subsidiaries include Weiss, Peck & Greer Investments and Boston Partners.
He also previously served as an institutional director of business development at Banc of America Capital Management, the asset management arm
Asset manager BlueMountain Capital Management has expanded its investor relations and marketing team with the hire of Jennifer Strickland as managing director.
In addition, Josh Drazen has been promoted to managing director of investor relations and strategy.
Prior to joining BlueMountain, Strickland was director of investor relations at HBK Capital Management for nine years. There she developed close relationships with institutional investors including pensions, endowments and consultants.
Before HBK, Strickland was a vice president at Citibank, where she led product development for high net worth clients in the Asia Pacific region. She spent the first six years of her career
Mudrick Capital Management, an alternative investment firm that focuses on distressed investing, has appointed Philipp Levy as head of marketing and investor relations, a newly created position.
Levy (pictured) will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, sales and investor relations, continuing the work he has done as a consultant since the firm’s inception.
He reports to Mudrick Capital chief executive Jason Mudrick.

The Hedge Fund Association has elected its 2010/2011 board of directors, president and vice president, and appointed regional directors and advisory board chairs.
HFA is focused on business and professional development, Capitol Hill lobbying to advocate for managers and investors, and public relations aimed at dispelling common misperceptions and educating the media, investors, lawmakers and the public at large.
The directors for 2010/11 are president David Friedland, vice president Ron S. Geffner and executive director Lara Block.

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking has appointed Todd Martin as equity strategist covering the Asia Pacific region, based in Hong Kong.
In this newly created role, Martin will generate micro and macro themes that will formulate specific cash equity and indexation strategies.
He will report to Glenn Maguire, Asia chief economist.
The appointment is part of a wider strategic drive from the company to develop its global equity and flow franchise in Asia Pacific.

Concerto Asset Management has appointed Jim Skufca as head of risk management and distressed portfolio manager.
Skufca, who will be based in the firm’s Charlotte office, was previously head of capital and trading oversight for the fixed income division of Wells Fargo.
Concerto has also appointed Susan Moran as managing director on its business development team.
Moran was previously responsible for distributing alternative investments and structured credit products in North America and Europe for Wachovia. She brings expertise and contacts within the endowment, pension fund and asset management space.

Pucher is the former chief executive officer of HSBC’s private bank operations in the Channel Islands and currently also serves as non executive director on the boards of several select investment funds.
He previously held the position of executive vice president at the Republic National Bank of New York and has been general manager of its London branch. He has also been president of Republic National Bank of New York’s bank in Moscow.
